“You mean we as in me, you, and the walking armory?”
“They’ll stay close,” he said. “Just ignore them.”
“Hard to ignore men with guns, Azrael.”
He looked at me, amused. “You’ll manage.”
The town was beautiful in the kind of imperfect way postcards never capture. People talked loudly, laughed louder. Kids ran between the market stalls. Somewhere nearby, music played. There was also gelato!
I pointed. “If this is a surprise, I forgive you for everything.”
He followed my finger. “Ice cream fixes that much?”
