I had literally just finished sending in a vacation request, and the next second, I got dragged straight into a horror game.

A mechanical lock sat beside the door. I waded through the pool toward it, water droplets trailing down the tip of my surgical knife.

Ren had spent 5,000 credits to unlock the "Guild Hall" upgrade. Instead of a floating platform or a garage, they were now in a digital castle keep. Stone walls were hung with tapestries depicting their victories. Trophy cases displayed the weapons of bosses they had killed—Midas’s Hammer, the War Chief’s Skull. A jukebox in the corner played epic orchestral music.

The air was thick and stale, carrying the metallic tang of old blood and the rot of mildew. A single weak enchanted torch flickered on the wall outside the bars, casting long, dancing shadows that made everything feel even more suffocating.
