The one line on it read, "Thank you for participating." Beneath the card was a sheet of paper. It was a letter I had written to him. The handwriting was steady—so steady that there wasn't the slightest trace of anger or resentment. "Hunter, it's been nine years. I said walking up to the door opening it to see a man with a blue delivery shirt on . "Hi thanks for bringing my delivery, you can just place them over there to the right." I said pointing. " Yes ma'am" he said walking off the porch back to his truck opening up the bed then he lowered it down. Walking back into the house letting him do his job without me peking over his shoulder . I waited till he was done so I decided to check some websites that sell dance poles. I only found two sites that ship and the price was reasonable so I ordered one of each of the two I liked. By the time I was done, so was the delivery man. So for his work I made him a glass of lemonade that I made yesterday.

Ariane’s POV I nodded slowly, feeling a little warmth in my heart. Amidst the silence and emptiness I faced, this simple offer felt like a ray of light that could dispel the dark clouds. Though my heart was still filled with longing for Ariane, Regina’s presence and invitation provided an opportunity to connect and share a moment, if only for a moment. “Thank you, Regina. That sounds very nice,” I replied, trying to put a smile on my face despite the emotion that enveloped my feelings. “I really appreciate it.”

Still, I can’t drink right now for health reasons.” Nia stepped forward and stuffed the wine glass into my hand. “Health reasons? I never heard anything about that. Jonah is humbly apologizing to you, so can’t you be magnanimous for once? Just drink it!” Her gaze was sharp, and her tone was a command.
