But not calm either. Unstable. Like a wild animal that might bite if I lost control for even a second. I slowly lowered the drop back onto the counter. Coop pursed his lips and blew a plume of smoke into the air. Arielle and Sarah exchanged a long look. The latter leaned forward in her seat and scowled, “You just moved here and chose to come to this place?” Coop made a sound in his throat as though he agreed, but none elaborated. Again, I shrugged. What did it matter, anyway? “Us folks with magic always have an affinity—a type of magic that comes easy to us.” He explained.

He replied, giving me a glass and I left after saying thank you. I started drinking the tasty juice while looking here and there trying to spot Emily and Simon as it might be getting too late to reach home and there is no way I want to get caught red-handed. I finished the juice and started moving towards the bar again but suddenly my steps started getting wobbly, I felt like the world was spinning around me and everything started seeming more fun. The loud music started feeling ethereal and I went to the dance floor shoving everyone who was on my way.
