Empty. Good. No whispers. Just rows of books that smelled faintly of dust and old leather. I drifted between shelves, trailing my fingers along worn spines. “Herbs of the Southern Marsh,” “Defense Spells of the Fifth Era,” “Principles of Alchemy.” My guards hovered like anxious statues. And then— I stopped. My hand froze on a spine I hadn’t seen in years. The leather was scuffed, the gold lettering half-burnt, but my heart recognized it before my mind did.

Lady Cotts sounded furious but it didn’t show as her red eyes went dim slowly. Chuckling, Irina amused. “I would never do that.” She glanced at Lucas who blew her a kiss from across the room then at the hourglass next to him. Her voice was firm when she looked at her mother again. “Now, if you wish to know what happened with you, listen to me.” She paused to see whether her mother would give any reaction or not, turned out she was waiting for her to speak. “This book, written by an alchemist who lived centuries ago. It says in the book, in pictures, the sun and the moon anatomy. Do you know what uncommon between the sun and the moon?”

He was asleep. He went up and down, in all directions. The place was weird. The alchemist turned, he looked down. This wasn't the normal dreamfort. This was different. This was unknown for him. This isn't normal, he thought. This place was strange. It looks familiar. I have been here before. Years ago... it has changed, so much. The bridge was near; the alchemist started walking towards him. The sky was bright. He walked. The bridge appeared behind the thick bushes, the alchemist stopped. Something wasn't right. He had that feeling. The alchemist moved a step forward; he stopped. The bridge disappeared.

Although his goal was to become a battlefield divine smith, I had no interest in the military-related books he liked. The only thing that caught my attention was a very thick volume titled Contemporary Ultimate Alchemy. Unfortunately, it was placed on the far upper-right corner of the shelf. I dragged over a stool to reach it, but the book was so heavy that it slipped from my hands and nearly smashed my head when it fell. A pile of papers scattered all over the floor. I never expected Loki to read things related to alchemy.
