Kael. That was a nice name, and obviously respected. Finding a little confidence, I used my hands to grip at the fabric of my robes. “Before I accept, may I know the curse?” My head was still looking down, but I could hear the silence in the room following after my voice. It was unsettling and bone chilling.

She shuddered slightly and quickly shook her head like she was trying to get rid of a really bad memory. “What do you mean?” I asked apprehensively with narrowed eyes. “Never mind.” She spoke quickly and then moved to the side of the room where she threw a door open. “It's almost time for dinner. Come. I'll draw you a hot bath, get you ready for dinner with the Alpha.” I frowned immediately at that sentence. “With the Alpha?” I asked in disgust. “Yes, Lady Selene.” She nodded. “I told you you're not a prisoner here. You're the Alpha's guest.”

Cara walked out of the room with her bag leaving me staring back at her messy room. Cara was the Alpha’s daughter, she had everything at her beck and call. Her father, Alpha Adam was my father’s best friend who took me in after the incident. Though I felt grateful to him for giving me shelter but sometimes I thought it would have been better I went rogue than staying in this hell of a place.
