She held a delicate metal clam in her hand, and Joe could see a crystal bead inside, nestled like a pearl in a real clam. Mateo, who spotted Ava from the cocktail table approached her beaming. "Ava! What a surprise! Here, I snagged you a little something." He holds out a shot glass filled with amber liquid. Ava recoils slightly. "Whoa, easy there. I'm off the sauce." She gestures with her hands, indicating "no more." Mateo shrugs, a flicker of disappointment crossing his face. Across the room, Lucas watches Ava with a dark intensity. He signals to a passing waiter. "Another scotch, neat." His voice low and rough.

Bryan asked without looking up when Jeffrey opened the office door. “This is Amber, she’s Troy’s mate,” Jeffrey said and Bryan’s head snapped up. “Miss Amber, welcome to White Moon.” Bryan’s smile held a glint of malice as the two shook hands. Amber turned towards Jeffrey. “Get me a bourbon, it’s going to be a long day.” She turned towards the sofa as Jeffrey shrugged his shoulders and walked towards the drinks cabinet. Amber sat down and made herself comfortable. “What brings you to my territory?” Amber rested her hands on her lap. “I was told you needed a way into Black Claw to retrieve something that belongs to you.”

But she found nothing that would make her think they were nothing but superstitious people of the time. Amber stood, stretching her arms above her head when she noticed an extremely tall man walking into the lab caught her attention. “I’m sorry, you can't be here.” Amber grabbed her cell phone and closed the distance between them. She looked up into his emerald-green eyes and gasped. He was probably the most handsome man she had ever seen.

He had then pressed a little vial of clear liquid into her hands when he spoke to her earlier, “Get his passcode and then get to his safe. Spike his drink if you have to.” But how would she get to his safe if he didn’t even bring women home? She would have to think of something. But before she could even react, Madam Cecil came barging in, pushing Lola and Bree to the side. “Where’s my girl?
