Ellaine looked beside her and for a moment, she was distracted. Keisha lodges herself forward and kicks her in the face. "Fuck!" she screamed loudly, dropping the gun on the driver's side. Ellaine pushed the corpse away to try and get her gun back but Keisha would not allow it. "By now you probably know I'm an assassin,don't you?" Keisha asked while she was running out of breath. She kicked Ellaine in the face again, slamming her head against the front of the car. "A terrible one," Ellaine answered before grabbing Keisha's foot.

The moment he got a hold of the collar of her shirt they were already into the portal. He pulled her to him as they both crashed into the hall at the foot of the sofa. Hunter's side hit the center table as it lost its balance and the glass crashed onto the floor making a huge crashing noise. The once beautiful glass now lay in millions of tiny shards, each one so sharp and independently strong, ready to slit the one who comes in contact. Sometimes you should never break something because you'll end up making it a dangerous weapon. It was always the monsters that gave birth to even worse monsters than themselves.

“It felt like… like I was being erased.” Adrian’s grip tightened slightly as he helped me sit down. “A portal? That confirms what I’ve been reading.” He knelt beside me, his expression serious. “The totem, it’s connected to a legend about guardians. You were a guardian, Annalise, a protector of balance between humans and werewolves. The portal… it might have been some sort of trap.” I stared at him, the weight of his words sinking in. “A guardian?” The word felt foreign on my tongue, but at the same time, it stirred something deep within me. “That doesn’t make sense.”

Lyra said, her voice a low, lethal whisper. She snapped her fingers. The "Null-Anchor" didn't just break; it reversed. The gray light was turned into a violent, violet shockwave that exploded outward. The four assassins were incinerated instantly, their black glass masks shattering into a million pieces. Vane was thrown back, his cloak tattered, his parchment-skin smoking. He looked up at Lyra, who was standing over him, her shadow-wings unfurled to their full, thirty-foot span. She looked like the end of the world.

He was being forced to murder the survivors of the 1998 crash to build an army for the Nulls.

Lila’s voice was hoarse and harsh, worn down by the dark runes spreading across her body. The one-eyed man said nothing. He drew a palm-sized black metal array plate and a tiny crystal vial from his sleeve. The plate was carved all over with dense blood runes, and the vial held thick, ink-like liquid. “This is the core activator for the Annihilation Array,” he slid the items across the table. “This is high-grade Moon-Corroding Poison. Drip a single drop into the array’s core the moment it activates. No matter how strong her purification power is, she will dissolve into a pool of blood in an instant.”
