Black as the darkest night hair against a crisp linen pillow, brown skin against a blindingly white sheet, and tiger’s eyes burning with deliberate cruelty and triumph into hers. In horrified rejection of the imagery that had sprung into her mind, Lara Anderson shuddered violently, dimly aware that she was still in the grip of severe shock. Abruptly, she was dredged from her turmoil by the insistent shrill of the telephone in the hall. Reluctantly she answered the summons, carefully shutting the lounge door behind her so that her father was not disturbed.

Golden arrows slowly emerged, timidly trying to chase away the shadows of the night. The great fire disc made its appearance. First, it emerged as a red line growing wider and wider until it rose victorious into the angelic blue sky, ready to stretch its arms over the whole earth. It tamed its color slightly, becoming comforting as it shyly soaked up the night frost with which you would think it was soothing its own color.

“I’m just glad we haven’t been giving the new ones any wolfsbane. Who knows? Maybe they’ll learn to control it on their own.” Gray nods and offers Bo a wide grin. “Maybe. They’ll be a hell of a lot better than us if they do.” We all know the truth though. Lycanthropy is a curse. There is no way to control it. Not on the full moon. “Come,” Bo says, knocking me out of the dooming thought of our near future. He puts a hand on my back, lightly guiding me to start walking. “Alazaer is down by twin hills, waiting for the others to come back,” he tells us.

With that statement, Aries hisses his agreement. Images begin to project on the wall behind her as she continues to speak. Which is weird considering she hasn't moved an inch. "Ironclad dragons. Phoenixes. Leviathans. Direwolves. Storm Gryphons. Moon Serpents. Flame Hounds. Cerberus'. Unicorns. Frost Lynxes. Kitsune. Ash Ravens. Nemean Lions." She says with confidence as the images change behind her head still without any movement. "And of course the many extinct or the now unwilling bonds that you will learn more about in your history classes." she says as the images flick again and my breath stalls.

I guess seeing Lucas shot and bloody is catching up with me after all. “Two days.” “The body looks farther gone than two days, didn’t it?” I ask Lucas. “Yes, it was deteriorated enough to have been dead for a week.” “I saw Arnie the morning he went missing,” the gunman tells Easton. “What the hell did they do to him?” “We did nothing,” Lucas presses, sounding annoyed with the hunter. “Your friend was possessed by a demon. That can speed up the rate of decay. Human bodies can’t handle demonic possession for long.”

I hear footsteps and then see two figures slowly approach us. It really dark so I can't make out their faces in the distance. No one outside of Ferro knows that I can shift. The look of bewilderment was all over the mens' faces, and it was priceless. I get up slowly while my eyes remain locked on the 8ft grey lycan waiting in the shadows. I mindlink him, 'I'm going to kill you slowly and enjoy doing it.' I snarled as the tall man with dark brown hair came charging at me. Once he stepped out of the shadows, I recognized him to be Gamma Trevor.
