Clearer. “What is it?” I asked quickly. “I feel… other signals.” My breath caught. “Other anchors?” “I think so.” The Architect interrupted. “Incorrect.”

I yelled, rolling on the ground and getting to my feet as the Anomaly shook itself off from crashing into a garbage can. Barrier spell, I thought, panic clawing at my throat as the Anomaly padded towards me. Under the bright streetlights, I could clearly see it. It was like a very big panther and it wasn't black but a rather dark brown with spots of red fur. And instead of having a tail it had three snake-like things waving around behind it. The tails hissed at me and I realized the red spots weren't fur, but blood. Its red eyes glowed with hunger. Oh, lord, this is bad. This is really, really bad.

I highly suggest reading book one before reading the sequel, but if you don't want to you can manage the second without doing so. The one big thing in the first book was Goddess Selene's curse. So far, you have met or 'heard of' (ahem) the major leads, and now book two will be centred on: Daisy, Erden, Kassian, Bryant, the demon, a bit of travelling to different continents with Isaac and more of fierce Vivanna, lol, unfortunately, the bumbling and uncertain Vivanna dies in book one and comes back far more villainous in book two. Anom was both stunned and relieved as he realized that these small things were behind the spooky scene he had just witnessed. "Hello! I was just looking around. Don't mind me."
