A contract is desperately needed for the company to close the deal on a project, so I head over to the administrative department to lodge a request for printing paper. However, the administrative employee, Lydia Reed, slaps on an arrogant expression. "In order to prevent bottom feeders like you from taking advantage of the company by stealing the company's resources, the company's rulebook has already stated that you must bring your own paper to work!" I just point at the pile of boxes containing A4 paper behind Lydia before asking coldly, "Then who are those resources meant for?" Lydia rolls her eyes at me. "Well, they are meant for people who truly are worthy of this company's resources, duh! "You're just a meager project manager who keeps asking for money without making any contributions at all, so you can forget about getting your hands on anything that belongs to the company!" I nod in return. After leaving the department, I dial a number. "I'm sorry, Mr. Cross. It seems that we shall not be participating in the 200-million-dollar bid after all."

Ayu merupakan anak yang sabar dan menyukai make up, sekaligus seorang non muslim yang taat juga menyukai bahasa Inggris. Sedangkan Halimah seorang muslim yang sedikit tomboy dengan potongan rambut pendek. Dalam perjalanan belajar di kelas 5, sosok pengajar yang hangat akan selamanya terkenang. Beliau bernama Pak Kasim yang tiba-tiba memilih pindah tempat mengajar. Kami sekelas merasa kehilangan. Hingga akhirnya memberikan nyanyian terakhir diiringi tangisan histeris. Menjelang pulang sekolah, beliau mengucapkan kata perpisahan. Hal itu membuat salah satu teman bernama Efi memberikan sepucuk surat kepada Pak Kasim. Sepanjang mengayuh sepeda menuju rumah masing-masing, kami masih saja menangis. Suatu ketika, menjelang kenaikan kelas. Sekolah mengadakan liburan ke beberapa obyek wisata Yogyakarta. Di sana, penulis mengalami beberapa hal aneh yang tidak masuk akal. Seperti di situs Candi Borobudur, Museum Kyai Langgeng, dan terakhir Museum Ronggowarsito. Bab selanjutnya, Ayu, Halimah, dan penulis bertenngkar saling menendang satu sama lain di belakang sekolah. Teman-teman yang lain tentu saja bersorak sorai menyemangati kami untuk beradu kekuatan.
