The stench of rot thickened in the air as the creatures clawed their way up from the deep crack in the ruin's walls. They weren’t ordinary rogues wolves but a creation of dark magic. Their bodies were mangled, half-decayed, eyes burning with a sickly green light that reeked of witchcraft. My claws scraped the stone floor as I shifted beside my mother, fur bristling, heart pounding.
Her arm was injured from the fall earlier, but she stood tall, fangs bared, the crown of her lineage faintly glowing against her skin. “They’re not alive,” she growled, her voice a broken mix of fury and pain. “They’re bound… summoned.”
