“Cold. I don’t remember that, either. Nor these carvings.” The stone walls were engraved with figures from nightmare, tooth filled leering grins and empty eye sockets, jutting phalluses, and fecund breasts.
Something crunched under my feet. “Asalo,” I murmured, and created a ball of light in my hand. Bugs. The movement from the light was such that I recoiled, into Akyran, and yet the walkway remained covered by their dead, their glossy carapaces cracking beneath the weight of our feet.
