He was still standing there, like a silhouette in the distance, slowly fading into the fog. Some people were only meant to accompany you for a part of your journey, and our path together had long since come to an end. Now, being at peace and well was the best ending for us both. I turned forward, closed the car window, and looked ahead, my heart calm. The fog gradually lifted, sunlight spilling gently, and I knew this was the start of a new beginning.

No more shadows. Just light. Endless. Ours.

Someone locked me in here. How in the world, did someone put me in here? Right outside the glass is quite a big room, a warehouse if I'm not mistaken. The room is dark apart from the trails of light, coming from the globes that hang from one end, to another. Everything else looks dark infront of me, because a dark wall stands in the middle of the room, and giving me no glimpse of the other side. What is on the other side of the wall? I can't see much because my eyes are a little blurred and unfocused, due to the effects of the pain at the back of my head, the panick that crawls up my spine and the feeling of suffocation, with being locked up in this small space.

Not an ending. A horizon.

The End stared at them. A choice? Lyra nodded. You don't have to be the enemy. The End looked at my daughter. And you don't have to be the Keeper alone. The girls raised their hands. The black eye began dissolving. Not dying. Changing. Its darkness spread across the sky. But instead of consuming everything, it became thousands of stars. The First World filled with light. I stared upward. It was beautiful. The Beginning smiled. The balance has finally been restored. Then something unexpected happened.
