I'd heard my car enthusiast friend talk about how you could tell the price range of a sports car just by the sound of the horn. But I was convinced that Tristan Jarvis was driving the cheapest sports car ever. That annoying rich kid who'd been tailing me all day was now leisurely cruising behind me in his sports car. A slow breath of relief escaped me. Fenryr took my hand and said softly, "Come on, let's go home." We passed through the forest beside the royal palace on our way back, and old memories flooded my mind. I couldn't help musing, "You know, Cole wasn't always this evil. He and I got lost in the woods here once when we were children. I'd hurt my eyes, and I still remember how he'd comforted me and got me out of the woods.

"Chuck asked me to get him an important document and a change of clothes… Can't wear what we were wearing yesterday, since things got a bit intense…" Susan's provocation was barenaked, as she dropped the thick photobook as Lisa watched, the contents a mess as everything spilled out. Lisa could see the blissful smiles on her and Chuck's faces—it was just so ironic now. "Whatever." Since she was leaving forever tomorrow anyway, she ignored Susan's provocation, walking past Susan to reach for her bedside drawer. However, Susan followed her and snatched the tiny totem she reached for! "What are you doing?!" Lisa sprang to her feet right then, glaring at the totem as Susan lifted it high over her

I'd explain later if I survived this meeting. Reed was waiting for me near the entrance, a small tray in his hand. Two pills sat beside a glass of water. He held it out. “This should help with the headache.” I took the pills and swallowed them down with the water, grimacing at the taste. “Thanks.” I turned toward the door. “What time is it?” His head lowered to wrist. “7pm.” “Mrs. Weston.” I looked back. Reed's expression turned serious. “Mr. Weston can't know about this. Please.”

“August.” “August,” I said. “You should be there in August,” he said. “See what it looks like then.” “Edinburgh is August,” Caden said. “Come here first,” William said. “Edinburgh second. See both.” He looked at the notebook. “Every building has a best hour. The time when the light does exactly what you designed it to do.” He paused. “I didn’t know August was the best hour when I designed this. I know now.”

That's when Sam barged into my world once more. He looked disheveled—his beard untrimmed, dark bags under his eyes, and he looked haggard, having lost a lot of weight. He stumbled towards me, and as I turned to leave, he tightly gripped my wrist. "Let me look at you, Penny…" He pleaded. "Let go. Don't touch me," I replied coldly. He immediately let go of me, as if he was afraid that I'd get mad. "Penny, I know that what I did was terrible, and I ended up hurting you and losing our children because I didn't know where my heart really was.

Frank Hudson's voice trembled with excitement over the phone. "Lindy, are you serious? Has your mother's situation been resolved? And that man—" "My mom has passed away," Lindsey cut him off. "And that man is useless now." There was a pause on the other end. Then, Frank spoke in a gentle tone, "Lindy, I don't know what happened to you in the past five years, but the most painful moments are often the periods when we have the most growth. Your life is just beginning."

Maybe temptation was exactly what they needed. Finally, he exhaled and said, “Fine. We’ll go. But if it’s weird, we leave immediately.” Lara leaned closer whispering against his ear. “Something tells me it’ll be more than weird.” She didn’t admit it aloud but she already knew who she hoped would be there, the man who shouldn’t want her, the man she couldn’t stop imagining.
