Novel & Cerita The Better Half Book

"Only one way to prove that." "Careful, wife." I warned, my voice low and teasing. "I always rise to a challenge." She laughed softly, her gaze falling to the book she’d closed. "Do you know what this book’s about?" I glanced at the title again, pretending to think. "A family, right? Something about poverty and resilience?" She nodded, seeming a bit surprised though she had found the book in the beach house, probably assuming I've never read it. "It’s about overcoming tough beginnings and finding beauty in broken places. It’s sad but also hopeful." Her voice softened and she looked thoughtful.

"And the evil 20-year-old is speechless." I continued sipping my coffee, and when I'm done, I stood up and smiled at them. "Still, I'm not liking your ideas. Because as long as it didn't come from me, it's not a worthy thing to consider. Remember, I'm . . . the . . . best . . . Del Puerto." I walked out, leaving them the kind of atmosphere that has never been strange to anyone who know me. And lastly, HUSBAND. Wait, husband?

A plain spine I could not read from the angle. And on top, face-up. A book about marriage. Not the bright-cover kind. The kind with footnotes. The kind with a university press logo on the spine. The kind that takes two hands to hold open because the research inside it is dense enough to need both. My chair pushed back from the desk. I walked to the bathroom and turned the cold tap on and stood at the sink with both wrists under the water and my eyes on the drain. Dominic Hartley did not read things he was not going to use.

But in the end… "Phoebe?" Megan had already started treating Phoebe like a younger sister. In private, she would call her by name. Now, she grabbed Phoebe's hand. "What's wrong? Is there something between you and Felicity?" She was very perceptive. Phoebe hadn't planned on hiding anything, so she didn't bother to control her expression. Or maybe it just hurt too much for her to rein herself in. She said calmly, "She's my half-sister. Same father, different mothers."

She walked over to the counter and leaned over. Before she could speak, she heard the man speak. “Hazel, this book is amazing. The husband really deserves what his wife did to him. But I hope she forgives him and they go back to how they used to.” Amber frown her brows and looked towards the direction of where the man sat. “Why don’t you read on and find out,” Amber heard Hazel say and when she turned her head back to look at her, she saw a smile on her lips and she became confused.

Lady smiled weakly at her husband, nodded, and Colleen squeezed her hand and picked up his phone to call Dom. "Half?" Dom sounded excited from the other end of the phone, it almost had the worried Beta chuckling. He couldn't phantom how energetic his Half is half the time. Almost like he didn't have any care in the world. Hardly ever angry. This strike of innocence almost drew him into lust for his Half before he found his Fated Mate. Glad he did not indulge.

When he came to our home to take Avni, she just jumped in joy and left with him. “I know! I am sorry I popped that idea without discussing it with you. I know it involves you in a bigger ratio than me.” He apologized to me. Awe, I just wish to hug him all eternity. “I am your better half, Arjun. I can understand you and I will support you! I love you, Arjun.”

“How can you say that?” “If you had had paid attention around you last week when we were in the forest you would know that she was fooling around with the red-headed one on her right side and two days ago when you sent me to look for your healing flower she was fooling with the bald one. Soooooo.... she kind of had it coming, plus, I for one have no intention in saving a half-breed who only knows how to fool around and create trouble.” “But still, it's not going to end well-”

Greenfield boldly inscribed beneath, everything up unto this moment felt too predictable and strangely insipid. Inside wasn't any better: the cold AC; black TV screen; the bookshelf that occupied the greater part of the right sage green wall, containing things on psychology, philosophy, and books on the human mind. He could even spot Ben Carson's "Think Big" written across the spine of one of the books. There was a large portrait of he, his ex wife, and his daughters anchored to the side of the shelf. They looked happy with their brooding smiles that stretches the jaw, silver teeth and a calmness from their posture...they were too happy even, only that in Aaron's head, happiness was relative

Even if only half, I am a predator. Looking upwards at my apartment, I'm glad I have plans tonight. If I were inside all night, I could see myself drinking too much. That more than instant healing might be what saves me. The keys fumble, mimicking arthritis. I drop them again and again. Finally, I grasp them hard. It takes forever to get the door open.
