Alessia lifted a hand. “Down.” The beast froze midair and then slammed into the earth with enough force to crack the ground. Kael sliced its head clean off before it could rise again. Ianthe whistled. “Alessia’s not playing today.” “She never does,” Kael muttered. Seraphine clung to her satchel. “Th-this is worse than the Leviathan—” Rian choked, “Everything is worse than the Leviathan!”
