Noah suggested that I go to my room and change. "We will stay and keep watch," Jaxon mumbled compassionately and laid his hand on my shoulder. I thanked them as I hurried to my room. Once in the bedroom I shifted and dressed quickly. As I was leaving I saw my father leaving one of the bedrooms down the hall. He saw me and hurried to my side. "How is Azrael?" I asked curiously. "He's getting better and was replaced by an elf called Ahdun Redmiu, who is a horrible fellow. The old elf lost his world he created and his home so if in a depressed state. I informed him that he's welcome to stay here," Nikolai sighed.

“And you… stole my crown. And now you’ve brought her into it.” He glanced at me like I was a puzzle, dangerous and fragile all at once. “She doesn’t belong here. Neither of you do. But I will fix that.” The air shifted, heavier now, and the shadows leaned in closer to us. The underworld itself seemed to shiver at Kael’s presence. Before I could react, Azrael appeared. Not in judgment — not yet — but with the weight of eternity pressing down. Wings of iridescent white, sword sheathed at his side, eyes glowing with warning.

The Awakened Blood King returned. Bloodstorm engulfed Valenfort’s sky. The city trembled as another ancient entity stirred — Azrael, the sealed Blood God. He rose from the earth, half bone, half fire, blood wings eclipsing the moon. Each step cracked ground, shattered space. “At last… the gate opens.” Evelyn trembled but gripped Blood Shadow. She knew one way — sacrifice her soul to close the cycle. She raised the sword, voice shaking but firm: “Azrael… I am your descendant — and your end.”

She clearly needed reassurance that things were going okay. “The demon here is called Azrael and he is contracted with Beckah Griffen” he said to her. “Why?” Clara said quietly. Caiden processed Azrael’s use of the word ‘fruitful’. It seemed like Azrael might have made a contract with Beckah that involved the souls of other people. Caiden could not call his contract with Clara fruitful because he would only be receiving her soul.
