Daniel takes a book off the shelf, and I turn to face him. "What do you like to read the most?" he ask. "A bit of everything, I enjoy gaining knowledge," I shrug. "Take this; consider it a memento from me," he says, holding the book out to me. I raise an eyebrow. I take the book from his hand and look at the cover, which depicts a couple embracing. I check the title, which reads: "Farewell to Humanity." "Thank you." "You're welcome." I say nothing more and head toward the path I memorized leading to the bedroom. I lie down on the bed and stroke the book's cover. I start reading and don't know how much time passes, but when I come to, the day has already dawned.

The longer she sat here frozen the more assured these people would be that the book was what they thought it was. Aspen should have burned it. That was the safest thing to do. Move, damn it. "Uh, what?" Aspen whirled around and shoved the roll top down. Maybe she could convince them it was something else? "That? Oh, no. It's a cookbook. We should get on to your schedule." Who were these people? She hadn't seen them in the database, but they could know someone. They could be connected. "I read Nabanita's book," the woman chimed in.

He adds, dropping his fork and placing a big black book in front of me. I hesitated before taking the book. "That's the people I want you to learn about," Liam says. I open the book and there are pictures of strangers of course, their names, age, occupation, personalities, their relationships and connection with Liam written below their pictures. "Memorize their faces and personalities especially," He explains, I stare at Liam and I'm pretty sure my face is nothing but screaming 'why do I have to learn about these people'. Liam scoffs.

Something that I appreciated for the most part, considering all I seemed to do lately was train and sleep.
