The title of the book was, 'My Last Wish'. The book was about a beautiful poor and hardworking girl called Daisy. She was smarter than most in the Country of Envia, despite being a peasant. Her one desire in life was to visit the palace library. Like me, she had been an orphan, but unlike me, she had been adopted by an abusive family. One night, tired of the abuse that her adoptive mother's drunken escapades brought, she fled their cottage. On the road, she ran into the carriage of a nobleman, who took pity on her situation.

The book was titled "Phoenix Rising: Reclaiming Identity After Betrayal." It came out the following spring and immediately hit bestseller lists. Women wrote to me by the hundreds. Sharing their own stories. Thanking me for giving them hope. "I had no idea so many women went through similar things," I told Benjamin. "You gave them a voice. Showed them they are not alone." With the book's success came more attention. Good Morning America wanted me on their show. Oprah's production company called. "This is getting overwhelming," I admitted to Angela. "Then set boundaries. Say no to things that do not serve your mission."

"I want this book to remember everyone." "The midwife who delivered children during the war." "The farmer who shared his harvest during the famine." "The teacher who reopened the first village school." "The blacksmith who forged tools instead of weapons." He looked around the room. "A kingdom is never built by heroes alone." His words settled deeply into the hearts of every student present. One young girl slowly raised her hand. "Will there be room for ordinary people?" Cassian smiled. "My dear..." He closed the book carefully. "Those are exactly the people it was made for."

I tell her, remembering I am now her new tutor. "Okay," she sighs. "What would you like to read?" I ask, and as if I made her day again, she smiles brilliantly and answers: "Ovid's Metamorphosis!" I can't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "Why that book?" I am intrigued a little girl would be so excited to read a book meant for college students. I should know. I had to read the book as part of my mythology elective. "Because of the gods and goddesses!" She simply answers.

It was about a system and the people inside it and the specific difficulty of choosing accountability when it cost you something. The long-form conversation at eleven was better — a journalist who had read the full book and asked questions that showed it. They talked for ninety minutes. She said things she hadn't planned to say and found they were true. By afternoon the book was in the world properly. Not just available — being read. Messages arriving from people who had bought it that morning and were already in the middle of it. A librarian in the north who had ordered thirty copies for her branch. A secondary school teacher who was planning a unit around the consent architecture chapter.

He waited. "The room that is waiting," she said. "Petra told me there would be room when the work was Dani's. I think I know what I want to put in it." She paused. "A book. Not a governance document. Not a methodology text. A book for people. About what it is to live in a territory that is healing — what it feels like from the inside, what the healing asks of the people who are present in it, what it gives back." He was quiet for a moment. Then: "Not the personal record."

I laugh at the clever word play. "Can we go in there?" I plead. Jack looks to where I'm pointing, "Of course." He smiles at me. I smile super hard and stare at the adventure ahead of me. We walk in and I look at a ton of cooking books, dog calendars and more. There's a book there called, Dear Nobody. It's a true story about a girl named, Mary Rose, who has to deal with her drug addiction and boys. The book interests me. I show Jack. "Out of every book in this store, you choose the one about an addict?" Jack raises his eyebrows. I shrug.

I can't imagine spending time with him outside the hospital; I'd be too awed to speak. "All right, ladies!" Cindy taps a spoon against her glass to get our attention. "We're a book club, so we need to at least look like we're talking about this week's read." She reaches down to take a hardback book out of her bright pink beach bag. "Elin Hilderbrand's The Rumor-so much to unpack here. Who wants to start?" When none of us say a word, Cindy heaves a loud sigh. "Okay, children. I see you're going to make me work for this one. The book is told from four different points of view. Which did you relate to the most?"

Klark, ‘Tribid Greed’ by Steve Reynolds, and a lot of other books. One by one Trisha returned all the books she'd picked. When she was beginning to get tired and unmotivated, the corner of her eyes perceived a strange book on a shelf not too far from where she was. Its spines were tattered and appeared like spiky wires beneath the poor lighting.
