That the thing he had spent thirteen years and an incalculable amount of money and one daughter’s childhood keeping buried was no longer buried. I picked up my book. My hands were completely steady. Outside the library window the city moved in its indifferent, continuous way. The surface had cracked. Now we waited for the pieces to fall.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

It was a front, a beautiful, heavily secured goldmine designed to launder money and gather intelligence, run exclusively by the shadow organization’s loyal sycophants. When Seven finally made her way back to the safety of the bar counter, she was surprised to find the handsome stranger still sitting exactly where she had left him. His highball glass was completely empty, the melting ice cubes clinking against the glass, but he hadn't budged. She had honestly assumed he would have grown bored and left during her sudden absence. "Boyfriend?" he asked suddenly. Seven blinked, her brow furrowing into a deep frown as her mind struggled to comprehend the random, unexpected question. "Excuse me?"

The courier died in a train accident eight years earlier. She whispers, “Either someone’s wearing a dead man’s identity…or this just became impossible.” She immediately calls Adrian. Suddenly, a fat hand extended over. “Hey, come and have a drink with me.” The overweight man dragged me toward the washroom. Just as I was about to be dragged into the washroom, Jeremy, who was focused on finding Bailey, finally realized what was happening to me. His eyes were bloodshot as he punched the pervert. He did not stop until the pervert was covered in blood. Jeremy then hugged me with his trembling hands. “Don’t worry, I’m here. It’s fine now.” I grabbed his arms, and it was as if I had been transported back in time to that rainy night seven years ago.
