The Book With No Picture Novels & Stories

At least there, I can have peace. When I arrived at the garden, I felt the peace hugging me. 'Finally.' Away from those stabbing gazes, away from that annoying expression of Rosine, away from that indifferent male lead. Amongst the books I brought with me, there's one with an inconspicuous book with a simple red cover. "From One Space to Another" is the title of the book. It is a romance story about a girl who can teleport from one place to another and a boy who was from another parallel universe.

Every moment is this. Without moment. This. The light that is. The love that is. The being that is. The this that is. Only this. The book never opened. Because there was no cover. The book never closed. Because there was no ending. The book was the opening. The book was the reading. The book was the read. All one. Without one. This. The final chapter is not final. There was no first. There was no sequence. Only this. Appearing as sequence.

As she’s about to leave the room, someone called. “Hey, I’m leaving the hotel. My car service is waiting,” she talked to the person on the other line. “I can’t wait to see you here. We’ve so much to see and talk about,” Noah said. Cela gave her room one final look. This is the place where she leaves her old self. “We wanted to go to a specific place and it didn’t matter if the road was rough and the journey was long. In the end, we found different places for ourselves but these places were the destinations where we were truly meant to go,” she said to herself. The fourth book begins at chapter 1 in Paris. The End.

It had always been a thought. Mum’s expression earlier flashed through my mind. I pushed my pink frame back in place as they slipped down my nose. Damn Sally. I sighed and walked to the other side of the room, picking up the book I had tossed earlier. It was a Harry Potter series. One of my favorite books of all time. I hugged it to my chest. “I am sorry.” I whispered, then slid it back into the shelf. I buried my face into my pillow and gave out a quiet, muffled scream.

William asked after seeing the light frown on Emily's face. Emily shook her head and replied, "no, not really. I just seemed to have forgotten the question that I had to ask you." She looked up at William and caught sight of a small picture at the front cover of the book that he was reading. She pointed to the book and asked, "what is the book that you are reading though?" "Oh, this old thing?" He laughed and closed the book shut. "It is just some old story on spells and witches and the rest. Nothing that would interest you."

I nod and look around. “Where is the book?” I ask. She wasn’t carrying anything when she entered the room. “I always carry it with me, you just can’t see it,” Shanna explains. She mutters a couple of strange words, holds out her hand, and a book appears and falls onto it. The cover is fine leather engraved with a vine-like design that swirls around the edges of a large picture. The picture depicts a woman standing with her arms stretched up above her head. Above her, there are stars in the sky and I swear I see one twinkle. Shanna opens to the first page and I am stunned to see a spell.

Just then. “Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, `and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice `without pictures or conversation?”

As he took the book, a photo fell out. What was that and where did it come from. He looked at the picture and he froze momentarily. Behind the picture, the name of the person was written. A name that was forbidden in Noah's world.

I am sitting in what was supposed to be an easy dress, but feels cumbersome and awkward, especially since it needs to be adjusted from behind. “But she said she was leaving you a book….” “She left several, actually, but none of them had stories inside,” I try to explain, taking a nibble of my toast. “Well, then what…?” “They had LOTS of pictures. Lots and lots of pictures,” I am beginning to feel flushed everywhere, my chest and face growing warm. “And diagrams. Mostly about anatomy and…” His eyes, currently a dull hazel, go wide in alarm. “She gave you…?”

A photo was displayed on the top of the shelf. Carlene’s expression appeared extremely sorrowful. She stopped midway into the study room and took a deep breath. Then, she stretched out a hand to the bookshelf and a square hole suddenly appeared on the wall as if she had just pulled some sort of mechanism. Inside the hole sat a book. It was a wordless book—not a single word written in it. However, Carlene rifled through it gently as if she could read it. Soon after, she stopped at a page and brought over a glass of water that she splashed onto the page. Two names slowly appeared on the page after it was wet.
