Larissa woke up in a daze. Ambrose was about to speak when another thunderclap sounded outside. The sky soon turned dark, and a torrential downpour began, accompanied by lightning and thunder. Larissa, fully alert now, said in surprise, "It's raining this heavily?" Ambrose's face turned extremely serious as he said solemnly, "Larissa, I think we've encountered a typhoon." Larissa replied, "We're running out of luck, aren't we?"

His glare was filled with so much intensity and that was more than enough for me to know that he’s about to go on a rampage.

Moments later I feel the headphones placed over my ears and the deafening sound of the storm is muffled. Raven I'm worried about Anita. She not only went to see Joe but there's a current storm going on outside and I'm the only one known to calm her down. Amelia is scared asking for her mother while clinging to my right side. Anita is the only one who can calm her during a storm, even if Anita is scared of them herself.

The storm arrived not from the sea, but from the south—a late-season atmospheric river that slammed into the coast with biblical fury. For three days, the world dissolved into a roaring, grey chaos. Rain lashed the windows of Driftwood House in horizontal sheets. The wind screamed like a thing in pain, and the ocean, invisible beyond the wall of weather, announced itself as a constant, ground-shaking boom against the cliffs.

I shot the two of them with a vicious glare, then turned around and stormed out of the room. As I looked at the mess all over my body and my arm, scalded red, my hatred for Wynnie reached its breaking point. … By the time I had cleaned myself up and headed to the routine meeting, the team members were giving me strange, complicated looks. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?” They looked awkward. “Well… I went to get Ms. Lynn just now, but Ash was inside. She said she had something to deal with, so tonight’s meeting is canceled.”

Storm Without saying a word, he walked towards me, watching me carefully as he slowly made his way towards me. I watched him warily, wanting to run for my life but determined to stand my ground.
