The Book With No Words Novels & Stories

It rested upon a pedestal of bone-white marble, its cover carved with intertwining serpents and a single crimson gem pulsing faintly in the center. The air around it shimmered with a strange energy, making the tiny hairs on her arms stand on end. Her heart thudded painfully. "So this is it," she whispered. "The book Donato Morano and Princess Elowen have been searching for…" She stepped closer, unable to tear her gaze away. The moment her fingertips brushed the book's edge, ancient letters began to shimmer on the pedestal, curling into existence in burning gold ink. Her breath caught as the glowing words rearranged into a language she somehow understood.

At least there, I can have peace. When I arrived at the garden, I felt the peace hugging me. 'Finally.' Away from those stabbing gazes, away from that annoying expression of Rosine, away from that indifferent male lead. Amongst the books I brought with me, there's one with an inconspicuous book with a simple red cover. "From One Space to Another" is the title of the book. It is a romance story about a girl who can teleport from one place to another and a boy who was from another parallel universe.

She nodded and turned her attention to the front and listened to what the professor discussed. “I’m going to the library. It’s boring here,” I said, and before she could confirm, I already teleported to the library. I walked toward the bookshelves and selected some books, but an old book on the far end of the shelf caught my attention. It was full of dust, so I used my powers to get rid of the dust. ‘The Moon’ is the title of the book. The title seems interesting, so I read it.

She needed to read this book and hopefully, hopefully, she will know more about her powers. The red-leather-bound book, titled: Language of Colours, written by an anonymous, looked similar to the one that she had picked up on that fateful day, the day she had unknowingly 'infiltrated' a magical barrier. Even though it was in good condition, the wear and tear on the edges and the yellowing pages told a different story. Taking a deep breath, she began reading... ~~

I dump my bag on the floor and read through the shelf while pulling books out and mumble as I go. ‘Even a book can be dangerous in the wrong hands.’ ‘Ignite.’ ‘Hell is empty and all the devils are here.’ ‘You’ll make bad choices. Sometimes you’ll choose the best of bad ones.’ ‘Tuesday is Fucked.’ ‘Everything’s a game. And now it’s your turn.’ I have a stack of about 10 books before I abruptly stop. "Next isle." I say and we walk up and down the library isles. I climb and jump to get books off of shelves and Aidan has to catch me a couple of times when I fell.

He lifted his hand and reached the book placed above the podium, he closed the book and grabbed its hard cover that was made out of wood, before pulling it from its place. He started reading the book, he flipped through pages but couldn’t understand the language used. It looked ancient as it contained characters that were not part of the alphabet nor any language the continents used in both writing and speaking. But at the very last page was a map torn in half. It contained lines that led towards the Gluttire forest but its paths were not there, as he flipped the page the book suddenly dissolved right in front of him. The magic book opened on its own, Rico and Niffa patiently wait for whatever the blank page will going to write, they were seated, together, at the long wooden table surrounded by the wall of books. A light was formed, and the empty page was filled with letterings in a freestyle script carved within the thin sheet of paper. They narrowed their eyes trying to read the first letter, it was too bright, and the lettering was almost as white as the paper. The light vanished and the letters turned into tinted black, thick and printed, not written by a hand. The whole page was filled, it says,

𝐏𝐎𝐕 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐀 I was reading a book when I realized I hadn’t understood a single line. The book remained open on my lap. My eyes moved across the words, line after line, but nothing made sense. It was as if I was only passing over them… without truly absorbing anything. I let out a soft sigh. I turned the page anyway. Automatic. The room was silent.

Eventually Elowen stopped before a small wooden table. One book rested upon it. Unlike the others, this one looked unfinished. Blank cover. Silver binding. No title. The library seemed quieter here. Waiting. Elowen touched the book gently. Then looked at us. "This one is special." Dangerous sentence. Hope immediately moved closer. Naturally. "What is it?" Elowen smiled. "A story still being written." Silence. The floating lanterns drifted overhead. Soft golden light danced across the blank cover. The book shimmered faintly.

The book had no images with colour, but I could already imagine the creature with bright glowing green eyes. Oh no.
