“Do you think I’m… special? Or am I here because of the curse? Because I’m meant to be some kind of cure?” The word struck him like a blade. He stepped back, breaking contact. Desire wasn’t the problem. Belief was. He was cursed—marked by the Moon Goddess herself. Wanting her like this was foolish. Cruel. “I have a meeting,” he said, his voice turning cold to protect them both. “We’ll speak later.” He turned away. Her fingers closed around his wrist. He stilled. The sheet slipped as she moved, the towel loosening, falling away in a soft whisper of fabric.

The women set their eyes on the old man waiting for his response, the old man observed Broderick and said," there is only one god of war in the world." "Is he the one?" "Tell us, is he the one?" Before the old man could respond to the women's question, Broderick shouted like thunder as he beat his chest, "I will destroy kingdoms and break powers. I will crumble principalities."

I say indignantly, crossing my arms over my chest. They let out a carefree laugh as they continue to help themselves in my kitchen. “I knew I would love you; such a quick wit.” I take a step forward. “It’s Ezillus, right?” They beam at me in clear delight. “Jartre’s told you about me! I’m honoured.” I place my keys and phone on the kitchen counter and then lean against it. “So, what are you the God of? Breaking and Entering?” They let out an amused snort. “In simple terms, I’m the God of the Elements.”

I stopped and looked back, puzzled. Seeing the complete lack of recognition in my eyes, Sarah finally broke down, tears streaming down her face. I frowned, got into the car waiting by the curb, and left without hesitation. In the rearview mirror, Sarah's figure, crouched by the roadside sobbing, gradually shrank and disappeared.
