For one brief moment— the creature became visible. Fully visible. And Lily wished it hadn't. Its body looked ancient. Covered in black stone. Like part of the ocean floor had come alive. Massive chains hung from its shoulders. Its eyes burned blue. And carved into its chest— was the same symbol found on the tower. The same symbol found on the journal. The same symbol found everywhere. Then the creature roared. The sound shattered several windows inside the lighthouse. Glass exploded. Everyone screamed. The puppies howled.

Jake grabbed the book which he noted was glowing again and lifted it before him, towards the creature. The glowing intensified, shining bright light on the creature until it became visible to the others.

The sound came again, and this time something happened. The wall between the two niches went in a few inches, then shifted. A black hole the size of a door appeared shortly before Elora and Caspian. Caspian pointed his flashlight at it. There is a staircase going down which is quite steep.

Romeo stepped back, heart slamming against his ribs. Daisy's knees buckled, Enzo staggered and Lorenzo cursed under his breath. And then—A hand burst from the water. Not Lucas,Not Alessia's. Its skin was black,its fingers too long, its nails like blade. It clawed onto the riverbank and pulled something enormous behind it. Romeo whispered, "No… no… no…" But it was too late. The creature rose, towering, dripping black water. Eyes glowing the color of death.

Lazarus inspected the book. “What is it?” Nigel demanded. “It’s so beautiful,” Clarke admired. Lazarus gulped when he realized what it was. “It’s the Book of The God’s.”

But then I took a breath of relief when I recalled that Klara would definitely inform him that she had found me and that I was doing okay. “I hope so,” Lea chimed in and I shook my head. She then continued, “Good that we found our mate and it happens to be that delicious looking man.” “Lea!!” I shouted at her and she giggled. I flipped the page that I had been reading and my eyes found that a page was rather incomplete. It just had a drawing of a black creature but there wasn’t much about it. “Najak-The Lich” I read the title of the page out loud to myself as my thumb outlined the drawing of the creature.
