Red asked, already knowing the answer. "The Dark One. It's come for me." Jane thought it was ironic. She had come out here for revenge. Apparently, it wasn't for HER revenge. A figure emerged from the darkness - a woman cloaked in shadow, her eyes glowing with an unnatural light. “The Shadowed One,” Nicola whispered, her voice echoing in the emptiness. Kline's voice echoed as they walked closer. "She's not your pet. I need her for the ritual." My heart froze. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. It was Mila. "I said, I understood." You thought I couldn't sense you trying to sneak up behind me, and tell that creepy one that I can sense her getting close. If she moves any closer I am going to snap her neck.” The Dark One said, glancing back at Shawna and Rane who were trying to attack him from the side. Ji’lahni and Lynn looked over and sighed in relief that her and the boys were ok.

The house is deadly quiet. Steeling myself, I grip the hand and yank the door open. The hall is pitch black, creepy now that I’m finally taking time to study it. Thanks to my wolf side, I can see in the dark with no problem. But that doesn’t make it any less chilling. Shadows cling to every corner, darting across the bare, empty space. The floor creaks slightly as I step from my room, closing the door softly behind me. I pause, holding my breath, just waiting for Dominic to pop up and order me back to my room. But he doesn’t.
