Callum growled. “Sure I do,” Zane said breezily. “I just did.” We reached a massive set of double doors, and Zane threw them open with unnecessary flair. “Welcome,” he announced, “to THE Library. Second the the biggest library in the world, just after the Alpha King’s castle. But, we should find what we need here!” Library was an understatement. It was a cathedral of books, floor-to-ceiling shelves, spiral staircases curling upward, sunlight pouring through tall windows.

June 20th Yvonne: "I went to the doctor today. I'm pregnant. Four weeks along. When are you going to fix this?" Cody: "What can I do? What am I supposed to do?" Yvonne: "I don't care. If you don't deal with the kid, I'm not marrying you even if you divorce Jasmine." June 22nd Yvonne: "Here's an idea. Let's kill Phoebe and pin it on Jasmine. If she's in prison, you'll inherit everything she has. Then we can get married and have kids." Cody: "You think that'll work? Isn't it a little risky?"

That’s sad.” “Truly.”

“Move.” “My Lady…” “Move.” The librarian refused, then said, “they’re being repaired.” Perfect looking books are being repaired now? What a terrible liar. I looked over his shoulder at the ‘damaged’ books, shrugged then turned around without arguing or even saying anything. Why the hell is everyone lying? I spent the rest of my day reading in thr library and when I finally retired to my room, I was beyond exhausted but still, sleep eluded me. I got up from the bed and walked over to the balcony, looking down at the silent pack below and the serene forest overhead.

Lena’s POV The library felt like a vacuum, sucking the air right out of my lungs. I hadn't told Adrian I was coming here. I had kept the invitation to his mother’s private charity briefing a secret, desperate to prove to myself that I could hold my own in this den of lions. I had taken a car service here, and Adrian—he was still supposed to be abroad, he hadn’t told me when he would return.

My teeth bit down hard on my lower lip, until the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. The craziest revenge I could carry out... was to leave alone, dragging this broken body with me. "Am I pathetic?" Rio didn’t answer right away. After a long silence, a deep sigh came through the receiver. "Hold on for two more days. I’ll arrange everything for your departure." After hanging up, I slumped to the ground and sat there for a long time. I couldn’t see the light outside fade from day to night. At dinner time, Anthony came upstairs and walked into my room on his own.
