My fingers trembled, running over the mark which still ached. To my surprise, tears didn’t well into my eyes. I didn’t even feel anything about it. It was like, all the anger, the hurt, and the pain had been sucked out of my mind. And I was in a numb state. Finding myself too cold, I got up and walked toward the room. With a single pull at the door knob, it opened with ease.

My whole body is numb, and all I can do is cough and sneeze. As soon as I get to land, I lay on the cold snow in a ball on my side. I can't feel anything. Maybe I am going to die. Freeze to death. Here lies Temperance Andrews. A pathetic nothing that died with no one to care about it. I close my eyes, not caring what will happen. She rushed forward, collapsing beside the first body — Martins. The man who once filled her days with laughter, who had stood beside her when the world turned its back, now lay still, pale, lifeless. Her trembling hands hovered over his face before she finally touched his cheek. “No… no!” she screamed again, her voice echoing off the walls.

I feel my mind go numb and my feelings start to disappear. What the hell did that nurse give me?

With that, I walked away for good. Just me, my scars, and my sorrow. They only felt the weight of my departure when I was truly out of sight. I left with nothing but a single photograph. "Kelvin just doesn't get it," Jeff mused, his voice tinged with frustration. "Throwing a fit like that, what does he hope to gain?
