The Ruthless Mafia's Accidental Captive

The Ruthless Mafia's Accidental Captive

She felt numb from her waist down, she couldn’t feel her legs. “Hello, how did your day go?” Nora heard the doctor ask, she had been so locked up in her head that she hadn’t heard him enter the room. “Horribly,” She responded to his question. “I see you can finally speak, good, good, how are you feeling right now?” The doctor asked. “I feel horrible, I can barely move my body and my legs feel numb, my head feels heavy and the injections make me feel dizzy,” Nora complained. “Right, all those are normal, you need the medications to keep the pains away and as for the numbness, you were in a static position for three days right after you had surgery so it is normal and would be gone before you

Forever in the Past and Forever in the Future

Forever in the Past and Forever in the Future

My vision turns blurry and I black out. Blackness and numbness surround me. Is this what being dead is like? It's peaceful, but a little bit boring. At least I don't have to feed the pack. Oh dang, I didn't get a chance to turn in that English essay. It was a good one too. The constant soft beeps are soothing. I don't know how long I've been dead, but I feel like I want to open my eyes, ready to take on the afterlife.

I am SO glad that I read this story/book!!! It was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish!! Such a great storyline & plot, and especially characters!! SO sad that some important characters died at the end, but I know it wasn’t Kas’s fault!! I felt “every” emotion known to man while reading it!!!

Just finished “Forever in the past and forever in the future” for the second time. Loved it as much as the first time! Kas/Lex & Bronx/Saint are great, their dynamics are wonderful. The supporting characters are amazing and a great compliment to the mains. So excited to continue on with the sequel.

Alpha Atlas

Alpha Atlas

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, pulling myself out of the car slowly. Mom was pulling our suitcases from the car, slamming the trunk shut with a thud. "I didn't mean to wake you." Mom smiled softly, "I drove a solid ten hours, but I need some sleep." "Don't worry about it." I nodded, "The car did no favors for my back." The more I thought about Atlas, the sharper the pain got. When I pushed him from my mind, the pain faded. It left me feeling numb and detached. Was this the choice I was left with? Be in constant pain or feel numb to the world?

I normally don't write comments but I need to tell you that I wait everyday for more chapters. your writing makes me feel like I'm the one experiencing this first hand and I'm always begging for more. so beautifully written and I love every minute of it. if I could I'd give this book a million stars
Erin Sophia Lockman
This book was slow at first and filled with a lot of pain, but I find myself being a sucker for the wounded girl who becomes a strong, badass fighter. While I'm still clamoring for more of the raw, love/hate relationship in this book, I am enjoying the determination of the strong female protagonist.

My Stepbrother and His Friend

My Stepbrother and His Friend

Everything inside of me just shut off, like the light has been put out. I robotically watched as life unfolded in front of my eyes, but none of the happenstances were registered in my brain. Elon picked me up as he had proclaimed, and he drove me to the Rhodez manor where Poseidon scooped me in a bear hug. I was alive, yet dead at the same time. I had my eyes snapped open, yet I felt nothing. If numbness was the cure to all the pain, then it was the sweetest medicine. ~~~

A Queen Among Snakes

A Queen Among Snakes

I repeat over and over in my mind. My body is overrun by pain and panic; it’s like I can feel my soul fracturing and then everything just goes completely numb. All I can hear is white noise. It’s like I’m not there. I let myself escape further and further into the numbness. I feel safer here. There’s no pain here. Is this what death feels like? It feels more peaceful than I thought it would. Time didn’t seem to exist, but soon I felt myself being pulled back towards the pain. I don’t want to go back there. I want to stay here. I can’t go back and feel this, I can’t! But I don’t seem to have a choice.

I have to start by saying THANK YOU, as someone with PTSD i related to everything written here. The way you showed a journey through the struggles with mental health and overcoming it step by step, not being cured, but surviving... Mei's story means more to me than i can ever describe. Thank you!

i thought book 2 couldn't possibly live up to book 1 but i am so happy to be wrong. this just moved the entire series forward and was even better than the first. i think i'm a huge Mei stan now and am so excited to start the next book. i rarely cry at books, but this one got me several times.

The Hundredth Departure

The Hundredth Departure

“Never better! Let’s go. You’ve got a welcome committee!” “A welcome committee? Who?” “Just come. You’ll see!” Valeria helped me with my luggage and led me toward the exit. I breathed in the cool, fresh air of home. During the car ride, Valeria told me more about what Arthur had been up to. “You have no idea what you put us through when you left just like that! Arthur went off the deep end. He had us all under surveillance. It was so creepy! We were so paranoid!” “That’s awful! I’m sorry,” I said with a bitter smile as I scratched my head in embarrassment.

Moonlit Monarch: A Duology

Moonlit Monarch: A Duology

She wanted to move, but her body wouldn't move at all. 'What is happening to me?' she thought. Everything was numb. Her body, mind, everything. She no longer felt pain, nor could she think straight. In a way, she felt relieved. Her mate who had no idea what she was going through had a broad smile on his face as his eyes flickered between her and the twins. 'At least I will die seeing him smile.' "Soon everything will be over and you can rest peacefully." A voice whispered into her ear. If she wasn't feeling dead, she would have screamed.

Second Chanced Mates

Second Chanced Mates

Even I wasn't entirely sure if I believed in anything at this point in time. I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t move, what had become of me? I couldn’t say, I was supposed to be wailing, but all I felt was numbness, the type one couldn't explain , the feeling you got when you had lost a limb and you could see the stump but didn't feel any pain because it wasn't really there. I felt numb, detached from all the things that normally caused pain. And the tears kept coming and the sobs kept building and I couldn't tell who was louder, I couldn' t hear anything. My ears blocked out all sound and all sight, I couldn't focus at all, I tried so much but I didn't know what I could do.

I MET YOU

I MET YOU

I told her about my dream —that's what I called what I witnessed during the coma—, and I thought that seeing them well, healthy and happy, gave me some peace that they were in a better place; that's why I accepted her departure. But he did mention that Dempsey didn't get the privilege of saying goodbye, and maybe he was having a hard time. I know "maybe" was a euphemism. It amazed me how I knew him so well by hinting that Dempsey was probably carrying his load on the inside to give me my space; that she was sure he needed me.
