The Descent Novels & Stories

"Everyone on! Now!" The evacuation was organized chaos. Clones piled onto platforms. Our core team split across multiple discs to distribute leadership. I ended up on a platform with Katherine, Ben, and about fifteen clones who looked at me with a mixture of awe and terror. "How far down?" Katherine asked as the platform began its descent. "According to the schematics, about two hundred meters. Then we hit whatever 'The Path' is." "That's not an answer." "That's the best answer I have." The descent was worse than I expected. The shaft was dark, lit only by emergency strips that flickered and died as we passed them. The sounds of the collapsing facility echoed

IT IS A WARNING. Devon kneeled beside it, his hand trembling. “She’s down there.” Clara whispered, “So is it.” The Descent Begins Breaking the seal wasn’t hard — just wrong. The moment the slab cracked, a hiss of cold air rushed out, followed by a smell none of them could place. Rotting wood. Burnt leaves. Something… older. The stone spiraled downward — not stairs, but a slope worn smooth by time and something else. Something that had crawled. Lucas led the way, his flashlight flickering no matter how many times he slapped it.

“You wouldn’t have heard of it. It’s strictly between heaven, hell and the fallen.” “What’s a fallen?” “It’s someone who used to be an angel in a past life. When they’re resurrected, they’re identified by a specific birth mark. You, my dear, are one of the fallen. You should have a birth mark that’s shaped like a star. It’s in different places for different individuals but your parents found yours on your hipbone.” What the hell. This is way too much information that I wasn’t expecting. I’m essentially in the middle of a holy war, if what she’s saying is the truth.

My heart began beating faster and faster, “Calm down, Davina… there’s no one here… don’t be scared,” I said to myself as I kept swallowing hard and looking around. “I think… I should move now…” I mumbled while taking a deep breath, While looking around I took a step ahead and the ground beneath me collapsed and I fell into something deep. A scream escaped from my lips when I landed on the floor harshly, “Jesus,” I groaned as I tried to move. As soon as I released what just happened, I opened my eyes and looked around me. I was laying on the wooden floor; I looked up and saw that I was underneath the ground I just walked on.

The final confrontation loomed closer, and with it, the weight of every choice they had made. The Descent Morgana's laughter echoed like a chilling melody, wrapping itself around the jagged spire at the heart of the crater. The oppressive energy of the Rift thickened, each step toward the vortex feeling heavier, as if the realm itself resisted their intrusion. The group paused at the edge of the crater, taking in the swarm of shadow creatures that prowled its depths. Their forms shifted constantly, humanoid one moment and monstrous the next. They circled the spire in an unending pattern, their glowing red eyes fixed on the vortex.

It provided a brief respite, but he understood he couldn't linger in that position indefinitely. Summoning his courage, John began to climb down the cliff, shocked at how sharp his sight was, his fingers and toes easily finding holds in the rock. It was a treacherous descent, and he could feel his muscles protesting with every move. The voice in his head kept telling him to keep going, insisting that he had no other choice but to escape the creatures that hunted him.

With a shared nod, they plunged into the fiery abyss. The descent was a harrowing experience. The air grew thick and suffocating, the heat scorching their lungs. Strange, glowing fungi clung to the walls, casting an eerie, bioluminescent light upon their descent. The deeper they ventured, the more intense the oppressive energy became, a relentless assault on their senses.

It was the only thing preventing me from the suffering I knew I’d likely be enduring otherwise. I was beyond wondering about the reason behind it, at least for the moment as he nimbly descended what I realized was a ledge that plummeted steeply downward. My nerves fluttered at the sight, my breathing ticking up a notch, but Silas’s now distinguishable voice spoke up, aiding me in staying calm as he said, “Breathe, baby. Nothing is going to happen to you. Close your eyes, and we’ll be down before you know it.” I didn’t choose to shut out my surroundings, but I didn’t look down again either as Silas descended steadily, not appearing to be straining in the slightest with my added weight.

Presently Princess Bellona, daughter and only Descendants of Moon Goddess. She walks down the aisle; she is wearing a black gown with a high slit, exposing her freshly shaved leg and her smooth skin. There was a crack on the trunk, but it looked like a crack formed from the lightning energy's power. “It seems like I still have a long way to go,” Kayson mumbled and continued his training. While Kayson was training the Novem Lightning Zero Impact, Nicholas, the adopted son of the famous Sir Osborn, reached Clouspring. The first thing he did after arriving at Clouspring was to visit the Waltons. When Bradley heard that Nicholas was paying them a visit, he was so scared that he nearly fell from the chair. “Mr. Scott!” Bradley looked at the middle-aged man who marched into his house.
