“Recruiting kids into this mess…” He stepped into the elevator and the doors closed behind him with a soft click. The control panel inside only had one button, which Danial pressed. Instantly, the elevator shot downward with impressive speed, making his stomach flip slightly. The walls buzzed around him as it began to shift sideways, the omnidirectional mechanism guiding it through various unseen tunnels. This system never fails to amaze me, Danial thought as the doors slid open again.

The other elevator was destined for clients, thus allowing her to take the elevator without being surprised by an unwanted client. With the access card in hand, Catherine passed through the turnstile and headed to the eighth floor. There were two elevator doors, each with a small queue: one for even-numbered floors and the other for odd-numbered floors, optimizing travel time. Catherine joined the queue for the even-numbered elevator, and noted the sign indicating a maximum capacity of ten people inside. She could only imagine the size of the building.

Jomin led me to a gold-plated elevator with the letters 'EJ' engraved on the door. EJ? Eavon June? I thought to myself. His name sounds familiar... The doors of the elevator were about to slide close when Jesse pressed the button to the top floor, and it was interrupted as a child ran in and beckoned another child to follow her in. A woman too proceeded into the elevator to join them, before the doors finally slid closed and the elevator smoothly began to ascend. "You are sure I didn't pass the flu to you, Evan?" Autumn asked her brother as the elevator moved up, and he shook his head in disapproval and just patted her head.

“Good evening handsome sirs, welcome to the Stag, anything you want, we got it.” We step through to the rear hallway. At the end is a small elevator, and Vulk pushes the button marked up. As the metal doors open and we enter, Vulk questions, “All paid up to who?” “You vice?” I hit the button marked eight. “No.” “Then why does it matter?” The door closes and the lift jerks upwards. “We have murders to solve.” “I think that number just went up by one,” Vulk remarks as the elevator opens to reveal a naked body lying on the floor before us.

We walk to the private elevator side by side, three feet apart. The doors open. I step in first. He follows. The doors close. The elevator starts its descent. At floor fifty-eight, the lights flicker. I glance at him. He glances at me. Then the power surges. The elevator jerks to a stop, trapped between floors. The lights die. Darkness swallows us whole. My heart slams against my ribs. The emergency lights kick in after three seconds, dim red glow from the corners, turning the elevator into a blood-soaked cage.

The darkness enveloped the whole place with few street lights covered here and there but the two Alphas could easily find theytheir easily about with their heightened sight. Alpha Landon led Alpha Nathan to a building that was built just like a hanger for airplanes. He pushed a button at the wall and after a low buzz, the doors opened, giving the men access to the room. They entered the empty room and Alpha Landon led his visitor to the side where the doors of an elevator were fixed. He pressed another button and the doors opened. "Step in Alpha Nathan."
