" You're going to be with me every step of the way, right?" I ask softly. Her eyes soften. " Take a fucking step without me and see what happens." We both laugh. " Come on, let's go." We make short work of the distance to the huge building. Stepping in, I realise that it's a huge factory, and not a warehouse. Jets of all sorts are lined up side by side, leaving the centre bare. The factory has an open floor plan, so I can see the jets upstairs as well. Some are old, but some look like they actually cost

She glanced at us suspiciously, then hurried away. I suppressed the urge to smile. The locals here aren't used to seeing awakeners, and they're afraid of us. They'll try to keep their distance in case of an attack. We reached the perimeter wall of the industrial park. A large sign hung above the gate: 'MIDNIGHT HILL FACTORY.' It looked deserted. But that didn't stop us from entering, drawing our weapons as we stepped through the entrance gates. The factory itself had been built during the previous century, constructed of stone and steel. It stood tall and proud, dominating the surrounding landscape, a symbol of the town's past glory.

There was the ghost of a smile, the kind you give a child who learned the old trick you invented to survive. Outside, tires screamed like they’d been denied a refund. More doors slummed. More men arrived. Voices stacking a pyramid of fear. The factory performed its old miracle: it turned acoustics into numbers. Twelve guys became eighteen, and twenty became God-knows how many. The red-blue strobes reached farther into the building. The vines glowed sickly in their patriotic light. Leaking pipe kept its hourly accounting. Elky’s radio hissed. “Back gate,” came a voice that had slept through worse nights. “They’ve got a ladder and an oath.”

But we don’t have a choice. “Where?” Enzo asks, his eyes scouring the shadows. “An old factory,” Vincent says. “Their base of operations.” “Perfect,” Enzo mutters. “Just where I wanted to be.” I can’t help but smile, despite everything. “Afraid of a little dust?” “Afraid of what’s waiting inside,” he continues, his voice serious. “Stay sharp.” The factory looms ahead, its windows smashed, its walls disintegrating. It’s a site of death and decay, perfect for what’s about to unfold. We slip inside, the darkness taking us entirely.

Caspian asked tentatively as he narrowed his eyes. "That goes without saying! The Kane family's factory is the largest in the entire Dhord City! Even the Morrison family is working together with us. I guess you know the scale of our production now," Hugh said, looking pleased with himself. "Beautiful! That's what I'd like to hear!" Caspian guffawed. "I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find the source of the goods! I'm glad that there's even a factory!"

The Factory Night of the Third Day The factory was a skeleton of iron and concrete, a ghost of a dead industrial era. Elena, Antonio, and Andrea approached silently, shrouded in darkness. Alessandro waited in the car, in case they needed a quick getaway. Inside, lights. Voices. Armed men. And in the center, tied to a chair, Enzo. Alive. Beaten, but alive. Elena assessed the situation. Ten men. Armed. Positioned defensively. "We can't go in," Antonio whispered. "They'll kill us."

North Factory, After lunch, as she was done consulting, Su Yeon was taken to the factory place by the Manager for process checking. “Though it resides near the forest, our factory produces zero toxic wastage and harmful emissions, recently we got the official certificate from the government, and the entire details of the functions are— oh,” he paused as he couldn’t find his file, “Manager Yoon, I have to return to take the file,” “Why? Just tell someone to bring it,” Su Yeon suggested but the manager hesitated, “It is in my personal locker and my secretary is absent today, sorry, but I have to go there personally.”

“After walking for hours.” “You said it was a good exercise,” I retorted, my voice softer than I wanted. The corner of his lips tilted up into almost a smile. I hated how I noticed it. I looked away first. The car came to a halt and we stepped out. The factory stood before us, looking wrong. It looked abandoned, mold and weeds growing across the cracks on the walls of the building. The paint on the entrance door had peeled off, and the hinges were rusted. Zane stepped closer to me. “Are you sure this is it?”

I glared at Dimitri, a silent order to shut him up. He hesitated to speak, turning his head to the side. One more push. "Ruth, have they found his kids?" "Yeah, waiting for your orders." She shoved her phone back into her pocket, leaving her hand there. "Wait, fuck, just wait. I'll talk." His breathing came out in short, erratic breaths. "There's a factory. It's old, abandoned, painted this faded brown color. It's actually just a cover for whatever the fuck it is the boss is up to."
