ELARA'S POV The feast goes on as though nothing happens. Dravon wanted to end the feast, to put up a search but I restrained him. This is meant to be a feast to unite everyone, a night where people can be merry after weeks of fear. For the villagers, it's a night that signals that they can now move to their new homes, no longer staying in the displaced camps. Revealing that I was almost poisoned and starting a search party will ruin the peaceful atmosphere.

I’m starting to enjoy the music, although that could be because a small troop of musicians have taken over from ten-year-old Brodie. While it’s difficult to imagine anyone could turn into a wolf, the people at the feast move, and shout, and dance, as though no sense of propriety binds them. A fight has broken out by the entrance, and a man and a woman are kissing against the far wall. I watch, fascinated, as I eat.

Before Emma could respond, a voice came from the hallway. “Did someone say Moon Feast Festival?” Ever poked her head into the room. Her eyes were high, sparkling with exactness. She stepped inside, a grin spreading across her face. “I can’t wait for the party. I have heard that Moonbrook pack throws the best celebration and maybe,” she twirled dramatically. “I will finally find my mate,” she exclaimed. “That is the spirit,” Mr. Sinclair rolled his eyes. “What we should be looking forward to, is a chance for a fresh start and new opportunity,” he added.

It felt like a collar. "One more day," she whispered to her reflection. She wouldn't jump from the window. She wouldn't run into the woods to be hunted like a rabbit. She would go to that altar. She would wear the red dress. And when Fenris reached for his "first taste," she would make sure it was the last thing he ever ate. She lay down on the bed, not to sleep, but to wait. The moon was rising, vast and silver, casting a cold light over the Black Ridge. Tomorrow, the feast would begin. And Elara intended to be the one who cleared the table.

Stephan cricked his neck to the side. Kaye winced. "She might come. She could be running late." "I can't wait all night for her to show up. We have to go to that stinking Feast. It's our only chance to get inside Baal corporation without those Switzers stopping us." Stephan paced to a wall and punched a fist through it. "Now I'll have to go to that damned Feast hungry. And there won't be anything fit to eat there." "I'm hungry, too." Aliya stuck out her bottom lip. A former prostitute from the Ukraine, the sexy redhead knew how to pout and how to please.

she beamed prettily. As if anyone could ever get angry at her. I rolled my eyes at her exaggeration and led Celeste who found her amusing. “Let's have a wonderful time together, my Alpha. We cannot let this feast go to waste can we?" Celeste joined her and the both persuaded me into their silly plan. As if the feast thing was not already an issue to be questioned. Eva's guest were the kids from the shelter and trust me when I say the dinning room was turned into a food war zone.

"Celebration or not, let us focus on the purpose of this gathering—strengthening the alliance between our packs." Raven shot me a subtle glance, a silent acknowledgment of the delicate situation. As the feast unfolded. The servants, having retreated to the shadows, watched the proceedings discreetly. The feast, initially meant to be a private affair, now unfolded under the watchful eyes of the unseen observers. Each move, each word exchanged, held significance in the delicate dance of power and unity.

The atmosphere was one of celebration, shared history, and a sense of belonging. As the feast continued, the joyous spirit of the event enveloped the hall, leaving an indelible mark on the memories of all who attended. The combination of captivating entertainment, delicious cuisine, and the camaraderie of the pack created a truly memorable experience, fostering a sense of unity and celebration among the attendees. The feast was still going on when Bree walked to Leanda, “You have to follow Lyall to his room as he needs a slave to help me there, and all slaves are busy right now,” she said.

"May this feast strengthen the bonds between our packs." Luna Meredith nodded, her gaze lingering on me for a moment. "Lady Elara, you look radiant. May your stewardship of this feast be blessed." "Thank you, Your Majesty," I replied, offering a respectful bow. After the formalities were concluded, we returned to the feast grounds, the King's blessing echoing in my mind. I relayed the message to the assembled guests, and a cheer erupted. The feast was officially underway. The air was thick with the aroma of roasted meats, spiced wines, and exotic fruits. Tables laden with delicacies stretched as far as the eye could see, showcasing the culinary expertise of each pack. The sounds of laughter
