Echoes of the moon

Echoes of the moon

Light exploded from my body, blinding white and pure gold mixing together in waves of power that made the air itself sing. Mom's hand found mine as wings of light spread from my shoulders, filling the tiny cell with their radiance. Time to fly. The wings weren't like anything I'd seen before. Not feathered like traditional angel wings. Not bat-like, like demon wings. These were pure energy, translucent and opalescent, shifting between gold and white with every pulse of power. “Impossible,” Azrael's voice came through the door again. “The dampening fields…” My power answered him, shattering every suppression device built into the walls. Pieces of tech rained down around us as the wings grew s

“That’s what the Third Tide wants. To erase, not kill.” She pulled out the Testament. A new passage was written: > “Three tides claimed. Four remain. The Fourth sleeps beneath the Hollowing Wind. In its breath, the world remembers its first fear.” Maya stared at the stars re-emerging in the sky. “The winds are changing,” she said softly. “Next, we chase fear itself.”

“You were very brave.” Tears ran down my face. “Did anyone see what happened to the fourth man on the barge? Please? I must know.” They looked at each other and then Erik sighed. “She will not give up until she knows,” he said. One of the warriors stripped off his cloak and put it around my shoulders and led me to the fire. “He was swept away into the rocks. He hit his head and fractured his skull. We were able to pull him from the water, but he succumbed to his wounds.”

I Absolutely Love this book!!! Has become one of my favourites! Love the characters especially the female lead and the details the author wrote on how things were made and what from. The flow of the book was great and I could hardly put the book down! Really worth reading!

Trapped by Four Alphas

Trapped by Four Alphas

"What do you mean by that? You pretend you don't know us? Oh, or did you have amnesia after the accident?" "Remember this carefully!" another said. "We are masters of dorm two and loyal supporters of B4. Who was it that you swore at? Immediately correct your words, loser!" "Well, he's right. It doesn't matter if you are the brightest student in this school; if you insult Hunter Abraham and the other members of B4, then you will have to face us!" "B4!" Jonea grinned. "True to their name—BEASTS Four, the four of them are monsters!"

“Worth a shot “, Venus said shrugging her shoulders. “Spring’s flowers•Summer’s heat •Autumn’s fall• Winter’s Ice AUTUMN PACK Draco had just eaten lunch and was very satisfied. He stretched his long legs on the recliner in his office while staring into oblivion. The thinking was something he did often and getting lost in his thoughts was his favorite pastime. Clad in tattoos from neck down, he played with his dangling ear piercing. A knock on the door. The most irritating sound he’d ever heard. Second to slurping. “What?”, he said, his deep smooth voice echoing in his naked room.

The noise of the two Gods fighting was deafening, lightning strikes and flames escaping the ground in defense, both of them had wings so that they could fight in the air; Zeus had angel wings, feathery and white, while Lucifer had the demon wings that resembled that of a bat, the continuous flapping of their wings created more noise as well. “Damien!” Kora brought my attention to her, “It’s almost time!” She shouted. “Almost time for what?” I hollered back, the wind picking up some more. “I need you to take Abby’s hands for a moment while I clear this part of the Garden of the souls, I can’t do it if I’m connected to her,” she explained and I didn’t question further, I took a hold of Abby’s

Claiming Her (#3 The Southern Werewolves Pack Series)

When the doctor walked out of the room and passed the glass windows on the hallway, only then was Jay able to see the red wings attached to the doctor's back that didn't show up physically. A celestial being with a pair of red wings. As far as Jay could remember, only two types of wings colors he had ever seen in the Kingdom. White wings symbolized an Angel in its purest form, while black wings symbolize an Angel fallen from their grace. Jay had never seen any celestial beings with red wings before. More importantly, why a celestial being showed interest in a mortal man? Jay let the time flow once again. He looked outside the window, thinking about the doctor and why he was interested in Lia

Wingless and Beautiful

Wingless and Beautiful

“Are you my boyfriend or my bodyguard?” He held his ring in front of me, my eyes were magnetized by the intricate carvings on it. “Guardian angel, remember?” He straightened up on his seat, and in a louder than necessary voice, he said, “And unlike the last one you had, I have a sword, not a halo. And my wings are black, not white. It’s time they realized who they will have a problem with the next time they hurt even a single hair in your body!” My eyes widened at him. He took my hand in his again, and then he bent down to kiss my fingers once again. “I love you, angel.” He didn’t even whisper that. I was sure many people around us heard everything he said.

Beautiful love story, one of the most unique plots I’ve read so far with. Very touching & emotional but still realistic. Also it’s rare plotpoint that Hero & heroine are each other’s firsts. Technically well-written - no grammatical errors! Wish there were more Hero’s POV, but loved it anyway.

Wow, truly beautiful story. Started out fast and kept improving. Cried a lot in the beginning (had to pause until I calmed down). Also, laughed at times. The characters were very mature and I’m glad Hunter and Alice were able to overcome the trauma in their lives. Well written. Worth reading.

Her Four Possessive Wolves

We happily greeted him, trying our best not to hiccup from all the shots we had done. Finally, Jean pulled away from the designs, admiring each one. Adelia's semi-colon butterfly was intricately done, the edges of the wing slightly frayed. Teagan's Medus was large and imposing, as she wanted it on her thigh. Jean kept quiet about the meaning of it but you could see the pity in his eyes when he looked at Teagan.

Great story & characters, & absolutely loved the style of writing - broken/fragmented sentences that drive action & thoughts, so unique! Wish I wasn't left asking about some open-ended plotlines (Desert Sun, king's heirs, Felix, Albert & Mariposa, etc.), but assuming sequel books will address them?

Frequently Asked Questions

I was totally blindsided by the premise of 'The Fourth Wing'. It's set at a brutal war college for dragon riders, but the protagonist, Violet Sorrengail, is this physically fragile girl whose body seems ill-suited for the constant physical strain and danger. The main plot kicks off when she's forced by her formidable general mother to join the Rider's Quadrant instead of the safer Scribe Quadrant she'd planned on. So the core is her fight for survival in a deadly environment where a significant percentage of cadets are expected to die, all while she hides a chronic illness that makes her bones prone to breaking.

The dragon bonding is the other huge piece. It's not just about surviving the human challenges; it's about surviving the dangerous, often fatal, bonding process with creatures that are wildly intelligent and might incinerate you on a whim. Violet's journey with her dragon, Andarna, and later Tairn, becomes the heart of the story. Their bond development is central, because in this world, a rider's power and survival are intrinsically linked to their dragon. The book heavily focuses on the intense training, the brutal competitions, and the cutthroat politics among the cadets, with a specific rival, Xaden Riorson, adding a massive layer of tension and eventual romance.

Honestly, the plot felt like a mash-up of survival thriller and fantasy school drama, but with dragons that have real agency. There's a larger, looming threat about a forgotten enemy resurfacing, which adds an external pressure, but the first book is really about Violet proving everyone wrong, finding her unique strengths in her intelligence and determination, and navigating a forbidden attraction that's wrapped up in past rebellion and treason. The ending sets up the wider conflict, but the main plot of 'The Fourth Wing' is a very personal, grueling initiation story.
