Magic and Alchemy must not be rooted in the same soil. It was a lesson learned from the chaos that occurred decades ago. After Sorcery, the Dark Art created by combining Magic and Alchemy was banned in this world, the Euclase Imperial Continent wiped out all knowledge of not only Sorcery but also Magic. At the same time, while Euclase chose Alchemy to be studied in modern times, the Petunia Continent or the West Continent chose Magic. So while the Euclase people knew nothing about Magic, the Petunia Continent people knew nothing about Alchemy either.
