The result was one-two-one. As small as it could get. The man froze. His face went blank. He looked down at his hands. Not a single chip left. Everything was gone. The dealer noticed and gestured to the men standing nearby. The bodyguards understood immediately. They grabbed the gambler by both arms and dragged him out of the casino. They threw him onto the cold ground outside. “Gary,” one of them spat, “if you’re broke, stop coming here. You came flashing that check like you were some big shot.”

They think they’re gambling with cards, with luck, with numbers on a screen, but I know different. They are simply drowning in the shallows, and they have no idea. They’re gambling with me. I don’t rise or even look up when Xander and Rio walk in. I don’t need to. They take the seats across from my desk without being invited—already annoyed, already aware that if I called them in this early, someone’s day was about to get significantly worse. And by worse… I mean if they can’t pay, they end up in different parts of the city. Dead.

Bruno brought out a stick of cigarette, which he lit immediately, handing it over to Corbin who took it from him, placing it between his lips "Who's your best card player here?" "uhh, you wanna gamble?" Bruno asked, chuckling "Grassfinch, that is his name, always in a black mask, I have wanted both of you to play together, but you haven't been coming for a while, and Grass Finch is not here yet, he would soon be here. I am sure of that." Bruno started, excitedly. "Grassfinch, he his a crazy gambler, they call him the king of gambling in this Casino...He his a weird guy...."

She stepped back away from the machine and turned to face him, “Angelo, I’ve been coming to this gym for eighteen months and working with my personal trainer. I don’t come here for you. I don’t care if you were embarrassed Friday night. I didn’t ask you to come. You showed up on your own. Now if you don’t mind, I want to finish up and get back to work.” He stomped his foot, “you left with that man Friday night. My father told me you only fucked him to get him to buy your business and you’re a gold digger. You’re nothing but a whore who sold herself to get to a bigger paycheck. I got lucky to escape you.”

Lizzy stammered. "What? Are you going to tell me you didn't start all this?" she sneered with contempt. "Women like you, who use the name of a lady to feel decent, are the worst kind." Lizzy felt tears welling up in her eyes as she realized everyone was witnessing this, and she felt even worse when the imposing figure of Greed appeared from a balcony with a smile on his face. "You're worth no more than anyone standing on a street corner, and it will always be that way! Your actions prove it! So let's see how far you get when you realize you're playing a game you can't win, dear!"

And miraculously it reached great lengths. “Here ma’am” one of the masseuses handed her, her phone which was ringing constantly disturbing her. “What!” she screamed as she abruptly stood up. She couldn’t believe her ears. How can that man go on a date with another woman without telling her? What a husband! It’s time they stop calling him THE GAMER a BETRAYER would be suitable.

Pale-faced and terrified, I clutched Nicholas’s hand, begging him to take me to the hospital. Instead, he kicked me in the stomach—hard. Then another kick. And another. With a chilling laugh, he sneered. "I paid people to frame you for that medical accident. "Theresa, can you believe it? Some people will even die for money. The poor will do anything for cash. Hahaha!" My pupils dilated in shock. He let out a cold chuckle. "I bribed them all. And now, you have only one path left—death. Oh, and that milk? I laced it with abortion pills. Hahaha!"

I’m supposed to be picking the right fighter, making sure his hundred grand doesn’t burn—but Knox’s hands are dragging my focus everywhere but the screen. My body is arching, greedy for more. His mouth presses heat into the skin just below my ear, and I can't think anymore. I just act. My finger taps Goliath—the thicker of the two men in the ring—just as his image flashes again. A second later, the screen blinks. Bet placed. Knox just gambled away six figures. Rich people are weird. I would comment on that any other day, but right now, my core is pulsing with a need I don’t know how to contain.

I pulled the massive pot toward me as Leslie slapped her hand on the table with a proud grin. “I told you, my man doesn’t disappoint,” Leslie said, knocking on the table, her voice loud with satisfaction and a proud smirk on her face. Gambling is my thing—it’s like I was born for it. It runs in my blood. I’ve never failed, not once. Flo’s sugar daddy, a balding, hairy, and heavyset man, stood up with an angry expression, fuming at his loss. 'Stupid fucking old man,' Ghost said in my head.

I lost it too long ago. “Please—” I pulled the trigger and watched the light leave his eyes. His body dropped to the ground like a sack of tomatoes. Blood splattered onto the creaking, rusty floor of his crappy as fuck house. I could practically smell the stench of his poverty. This is what gambling does to you. It eats you up from the inside out and leaves you a shell, a hollow of yourself.
