The Rich Man's Proxy Marriage

The Rich Man's Proxy Marriage

The Red Gate Orphanage wasn’t a building. Not anymore. It was a carcass. Charred beams. Collapsed walls. A skeletal archway blackened by old smoke. But the iron gate—the one from the photograph—still stood. Red. Rust-red. Blood-red. Memory-red. Elena’s breath hitched as soon as she saw it. “That gate…” Her fingers trembled. “I’ve seen it. I know I’ve seen it.” Holden didn’t look away from her.

House Of Fire - Book One of Seven Series

House Of Fire - Book One of Seven Series

Letting out a sigh in defeat, I decided to settle for dragging back the bolt on the bigger door. The weight of the wood was pretty heavy, and with strained effort, I was able to throw the door open with a grunt. It bangs hard against the floor loudly, and I couldn’t help but cringe in the hopes that no one would hear it. Cautiously lifting my head out, I stare around in shock. Eyes wide, I stare at the gazebo built in front of the meadow and hoist myself up with my arms. Climbing out, I can’t believe even the gazebo has a secret trap door that leads into the tunnels.

"Don't let your guard down, even for a second !" They continued moving forwards but with extreme caution now. After walking for 2 more hours in the narrow passage, they finally reached a dark hollow region that seemed like a dead-end, but it wasn't. A big black square gate with indiscernible gibberish written on it was standing tall and blocking the path. The black Gate was around 20 meters tall. It looked like an ancient craft that had been left untouched for eternity. The most eye-catching thing about the gate was that its structure was remarkably symmetrical.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Thomas swallowed. Hard. Then: "It knows me." Silence. Then Ava immediately replied: "Yeah, that's not creepy at all." Honestly? Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. Then the chamber shook violently. BOOM! The gate widened another inch. A single inch. Yet the darkness flooding out doubled. Then everyone heard something. Footsteps. Coming from inside the gate. Not one set. Thousands. God. Thousands. Fair. Absolutely thousands. Reasonable honestly. Then Henry's face went white.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Apocalypse Temple: I Rebuilt the Underworld with Incense

Apocalypse Temple: I Rebuilt the Underworld with Incense

The First Gate did not break. It unfolded. That was worse. A broken door left splinters, hinges, something an architect could understand. This gate opened like a wound deciding it had always been a mouth. Black incense poured through Old Street, heavy with prayers no god had answered. The next trouble did not announce itself like prophecy. In the First Gate, symbols had weight. It made the temple smaller, not larger, because every new rule had to fit inside a room full of frightened people. The cold incense smoke pressed against every window while wet footsteps marked the next turn of the case. Nothing about the Final Gate War felt clean. It felt like another emergency arriving before the la

I would find a gap, a flaw, a crack. And when I got out… He’d regret everything. The doorknob was cold as ice against my fingers. I pushed hard. The gate didn’t even budge. I let out a low, almost animal grunt. The contrast was absurd: the room had primitive stone walls, smelled of mildew, yet the door was reinforced steel? Welded. Solid. Far too modern. “What the hell is this?” I murmured, resting my forehead against the metal. He did this on purpose. I could picture Vardam choosing this gate, flipping through sinister catalogs or commissioning some cursed blacksmith. He might even have had it made specifically for me.

The Wolfless Omega & The Alpha King

The Wolfless Omega & The Alpha King

"If three gates are active at once.." "The Veil weakens." Kael finished the sentence. Lucien nodded. Slowly. "Yes." The black stone gate pulsed again. Hard enough to shake dust from the ceiling. Cassian cursed under his breath. "So let me understand this." Nobody answered. He continued anyway. "We have one gate under Blackthorn." He pointed toward me. "A second gate in a desert run by a woman who apparently refuses to stay dead." Then toward Lucien. "And now a third gate somewhere near an evil ocean city."

Legendary General Vee's Revenge

Legendary General Vee's Revenge

Goma Island. It loomed out of the mist, a jagged silhouette of black rock and ancient forest. As we drew closer, the massive Southern Gate became visible. It was a marvel of engineering—a towering wall of reinforced composite alloy that had stood shut for nearly a decade. Seeing it now, with its two halves parted like a giant's wound, felt wrong. It felt like a trap waiting to be sprung. "All units, stay sharp," I said into my comms, my voice steady despite the roar of blood in my ears. "We don't know who or what opened that gate. Do not engage unless fired upon, but keep your fingers on the triggers."

Whispers of Until.. Part 1 - Shadows of Summer

"The girl from the library isn't going to make it to Friday morning. The attorney is filing the supplementary statements at five. They found her fingerprints on the latch of the gatehouse, Kai. The old gatehouse by the lane. The one she walks past every night after her shift." The silence that followed was long and heavy, the only sound the distant, muffled clink of a shunting engine in the marshaling yards a mile away. Kai looked at the red silk lining of Kevin’s gloves, then up to the loose, smiling mouth of the boy whose watch was currently sitting behind the flue in the old smithy. "The gatehouse has been locked since the fever year," Kai said softly. "The iron is rusted into the keeper'

THE MAFIA KING'S FORBIDDEN BRIDE

THE MAFIA KING'S FORBIDDEN BRIDE

A compartment opened. Inside was a thin black book. Gabriel took it carefully. The cover carried no writing. He opened it. The first page contained a warning. WHEN THE SEVENTH GATE OPENS, THE KEY WILL CEASE TO BE A KEY. Aria stepped closer. Gabriel continued reading. THE CARRIER SHALL BECOME THE DOOR. Another page. THE DOOR SHALL STAND BETWEEN TWO WORLDS. Another. IF THE DOOR OPENS, ONE WORLD SHALL REMAIN.
