River witch

River witch

She smiled, but it was a mirror’s smile, not her own. Esi reached out to stop her. The child whispered: “You’re new here.” Her voice shifted mid-sentence — changing pitch, age, even accent. Tano pulled Esi back. “She’s already been rewritten.” --- At the center of the village stood a Tree of Paper — bark made of woven scrolls, roots made of black thread. The wind didn’t rustle it. It read itself. Constantly. Pages rising and falling like breath. Esi stepped close. One page fluttered loose and hovered in the air before her eyes.

Into The Willow Tree

Into The Willow Tree

Small leaves had grown in random parts of his arm, it was as if it was made out of a tree, bark-covered the outer layer of his arm. He glanced behind him, finally noticing a giant tree, a willow tree. It’s thick leaves a shower of curtains, covering the broken interior of the cabin he was in. He felt drawn to such a massive tree, it was unlike any other tree he had seen, it was massive, it was as tall as a three-story house. He felt drawn to it. A magnetic pull urging him towards it. Subconsciously standing up with unsteady feet he went near it, touching its trunk, he could feel it was alive,

When Darkness Embraces Forbidden Fruit

_*]:min-w-0 gap-3"> He pressed his palm flat against the rough bark of the Tree instead. _*]:min-w-0 gap-3"> The surge was immediate. _*]:min-w-0 gap-3"> Not the gentle nourishing warmth of Eden's provision, not the specific grace of a garden attending to his needs. This was the Tree's actual power, ancient and wild and completely disinterested in what he needed, offering only what was real, only what was true, only the specific knowledge of the thing that had been growing in this ground since before Eden existed around it.

Making Past Perfect

Making Past Perfect

She could feel the roots of life intertwined beneath the surface, like ancient rivers coursing through the earth. Pedro watched her, marveling at her tranquility. “What do the trees tell you?” he asked, his voice soft, as if afraid to break the spell. Alice smiled, feeling the connection like a comforting hum beneath her feet. “They tell me their stories. Of sunlit days, of rain that gave them strength. And of waiting, of patience.” Her eyes opened, glancing at Pedro. “The trees remind me that waiting can make us stronger, even if it feels endless.”

The Servers

The Servers

Something intoxicating in which a young boy who was not fond of Books, but missed the smell of grass in the summer, dust on the road, and rusty steel from the old buildings he used to pass by; could only imagine what it looked like with the help of a thick layer of papers compacted into a whole. The traveller was escorted by a talkative tree, about 90 feet tall and with a 4.8 millimeter bark thickness. It was a heavy one although it could walk easily with its roots which became its feet; multiple limbs of every size. The traveller lived in a strange world for more than 30 years of his life since he was born. He was the only human on the planet. His origin was unknown, and his journey was his

The Way You Taste

The Way You Taste

HOLDEN’S POINT OF VIEW We then reach a park, and my feet don’t need a guide to take me towards an ancient tree that stands out from the rest. It calls to me. The Eternal Tree. It's huge, with branches stretching out like wise old arms, and its leaves are perpetually green. As we approach it, a warm, calming energy envelopes us, and I take a glance at Willow. She looks so… Peaceful. “Do you feel that?” she asks, her voice soft, almost reverent. “It’s like… Like the tree is alive. More than just a plant. It’s… sentient.”

Pregnant For The Cursed Alpha

Pregnant For The Cursed Alpha

I asked, my voice trembling with a mix of apprehension and wonder. Elysia gestured toward the majestic tree that stood at the center of the garden. Its branches swayed gently as if beckoning us closer. "Come, my child. The answers you seek lie within the sacred memories of this tree." Intrigued, I followed Elysia toward the tree, the grass beneath my feet soft and cool. As we approached, I noticed the intricate carvings on the tree's trunk, depicting scenes of love, growth, and the passage of time.

UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT OF THE CEO

UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT OF THE CEO

The following spring, Samantha and Andrew were surprised to find a small sapling planted in their front yard. It was a fruit tree, and it had a small sign that read, "A small seed grows into a mighty tree." They immediately knew who had planted it. Beauty had given them a gift that would grow and thrive, just like the friendship that they had forged. And as the years went by, the tree would remind them of the power of kindness and the difference that they had made in their community.

The Accidental Werewolf

The Accidental Werewolf

“I’m not about to give a big speech, but I would like to invite every pup under sixteen to visit the big tree for a very special treat.” Predictably, the wolves shift around, looking unsure and uncomfortable, no one has ever given them a gift before. A brave little girl with blond pigtails jumps to her feet. “The shiny twee, you mawjesty?” she asks. “Yes, kid, the shiny tree,” Edric grins at her and steps out from behind the table. He takes her hand and leads her to the tree Jessica and I decorated this morning. We didn’t have enough time or decorations to do a good job. Hell, it’s not even a real Christmas tree. We just picked the biggest tree in the garden and went to work.

I had a hard time liking the FL's sarcasm/strong opinions in the first chapters, but she grew on me as I continued reading. The writing is good, and so are the descriptions. Hardly any grammatical errors, and the pacing is fine. Great job author!

Is this book done? I hope there is more, it’s a great book!! I know I shouldn’t but I kind of feel bad that abbadon died. I can’t say he’s a good guy for sure but I kind of feel sorry for him in a way. He did seem to love her in his own way
