At this moment, my hand was already stretched out. Just a few more inches, and I would have helped the old lady up. Looking at her frail figure lying helplessly on the ground, it suddenly hit me that I had been reborn. In my last life, it was because I helped this same old lady that my entire life fell apart. But even a mundane life can have moments of joy—simple pleasures, like a quiet evening, washing dishes after a really good dinner, or going to the grocery store and crossing everything off the list. She extended the apple towards Stella as if trying to force her to take it, and Stella stared down at it. It was enticing, and she had been starving. It was becoming increasingly difficult to resist as she continued to gaze at it, and before she knew it, she found herself reaching out for it. With trembling fingers, Stella accepted it from her, and she stared down at the apple, questioning her actions. Life is like a moving wheel, sometimes we’re at the top, sometimes we’re at the bottom, and sometimes we’re in between.” I smiled. “We just have to be grateful that we’re still alive after all.” He looked at me, completely amused. “When is your birthday again?”
