“Do you realize what you’re setting in motion, Cardan?” My jaw flexed, but I didn’t answer. The thought of leaving her alone in that den of wolves made something sharp and primal curl tight in my chest. But I pushed it down. I couldn’t afford distractions. We finally reached the chamber. Heavy iron doors groaned as George shoved them open. The room beyond wasn’t a chamber in the ordinary sense. It was an arsenal. Weapons of every kind lined the walls, blades gleaming with silver edges, spears forged with wolfsbane tips, guns that waited with runes carved into their steel.

The delivery man took a step towards the voice facing the man, his feet slightly staggered. RA-TA-TA-TA! Gunshots echoed through the halls like cracking a whip against tile. As the delivery man delivered a burst of gun fire into the man running down the hallway. Further inside the barracks several men were sitting in the common area shared by all the men watching tv. "That's definitely gun fire!" "Are we being atta-" Three men popped up outside the window with AK-47s already raised to their shoulder. RA-TA-TA-TA! The men began spraying everyone in the room. Only seizing their fire when all three emptied their magazines. That's ninety rounds in a single room.

It has not been a problem for him since he got used to it. There was actually a spare room in his condo. Two, as a matter of fact. One, he converted it into a training room where he put all his weapons; knives, swords, and his gun collection. There's also a space in that room where he can practice his firing skills. The remaining portion was left for his training dummy, which he used for sharpening his sword skill. The other room was his gym. When he is frustrated, he will let off his steam in his training room, but when he is feeling lonely while missing his family, he will go to the gym and do some exercise. The gunshots echoed through the hallways, the guild members' movements swift and precise. The adversaries fought fiercely, but the guild members' determination pushed them forward. With calculated teamwork, they neutralized the threats and moved on. As they reached the sixth floor, Jota's grip on the machine gun tightened. They were closer now, and the tension in the air was palpable. The guild members entered another room, their guns blazing as they confronted the adversaries. The exchange of gunfire was intense, the room illuminated by the flashes of muzzle fire. The guild members' resolve held strong, and they emerged victorious once more.

I come out of my hiding place and begin to look around for the room where their weapons are kept. All pack has a weapon room in case of war break out. I walk further, there is a room at the adjacent side of the hallway and there’s a difference on the curtain color. It’s the only room that has a red curtain instead of dark curtains. The difference attracts my attention, I yank the curtain open and I begin to see different weapons, handcuff, a huge black chain and many more. I charge into the room and begin to touch all the weapons as I try to find the type of gun that fits perfectly with the bullet.

Stan took position on the other side of the door, and as one, we leaned in to divide the target and fired. Half a dozen men in the room beyond the door, all armed and standing in front of a second door. The room in question looked like a goddamn mudroom, except for the blood and automatic weapons. I clipped a man leaning out from behind a shoe rack in the shoulder, and Stan landed a headshot on the one behind the sink. We ducked back out.

A woman appeared from another hallway moments later, lean and dangerous looking in tactical gear, and she acknowledged Cassien the same way, her gaze lingering on me a beat longer before she disappeared around the corner. The base was quieter than I expected, fewer people moving through the halls, and I was grateful for it. We finally stopped in front of a set of double doors, and Cassien pushed them open to reveal the training room. My breath caught as I took it in, the sheer size of the space making my eyes widen. It was huge and wide, with high ceilings that made the room feel even more open. The floors were padded in sections, dark mats that would cushion falls, and the walls were lined

Ember nodded and went back to eating her food. I turned the light on to the back room and moved out the way. Ember walked in and her eyes widened when she saw all the guns and ammunition her mom and I had stored in there. We had everything in there from pistols to AK-47s. We even had a bunch of crossbows in the room with lots of arrows ready to be used. Ember walked over to the gate that the weapons were locked away behind. “What do you guys do, exactly?” She asked us. “We’re hunters.” I told her, honestly.

“Yeah. Cross-zone competition. Some of the hot guys’ll be coming over.” “Guys?” I blinked. “Yup. Don’t get too excited,” He said with a chuckle. “They’re just as messed up as we are.” We walked down a corridor glowing blue this time. Every few steps, doors slid open automatically, revealing training rooms, sleeping quarters, weapon vaults. Nova pointed out each one. “That’s the shooting range. That’s the med station. Don’t go near the quarantine rooms unless you like the smell of death.” “Got it,” I muttered.

When we got to a building Justin typed in the code to the front door and we went inside and started walking down three flights of stairs. As soon as we got to the bottom floor of this bomb shelter, I could hear the shots being fired from outside the door. We grabbed our gun of choice off the wall and I made sure that mine was fully loaded and I grabbed a couple of extra clips and we walked into the shooting gallery. When we walked into the room I saw how massive it actually was. And it wasn’t just a shooting gallery. It was a full on target gallery with walls and everything to hide around.
