So, Damian hid her instead of bringing Pearl back until he conspired to devise a better idea. Pearl woke up not long after. It felt strange to be in such a comfortable place. Quickly, she sat up and looked around. She was startled when she saw someone behind him. A maid then approached. "Hello there." "Who are you?" Pearl asked with a frown on her face. "I'm your maid here." Pearl rolled her eyes confusingly. Wasn't she supposed to be at home now? Where is she now? "Where am I?" "In the mansion of Bronckhorst." Pearl was shockingly startled to hear it. How could she be there?

Warning: My Mommy is A Savage!

It felt like things were getting out of hand for him. As his worries grew, Charmine continued, “When I walked past here, I slipped after stepping on something. I’m so sure that I stood on some pearls, but there was nothing on the floor. Baffled me, it did, until the people from the management came and mentioned something about rare materials. Suddenly, I recalled the new invention that the black market is selling. There are transparent pearls invisible to the naked eye, yet it was solid enough to cause someone to trip once placed on the ground. Moreover, they’d vanish in three minutes upon being placed on the ground, with no trace of it left behind. These pearl-like objects are very popular

My Brother, My Mate

My Brother, My Mate

Seeing my panic, Pearl smiled and said, "Leave it to Sanford. I'll take you upstairs to change your clothes. Tracy, be happy! You'll have new friends soon!" She took me upstairs and led me into the master bedroom. This was her room with Sanford. I dared not look up after entering. Pearl took me to the dresser and sat down. There were many cosmetics on her dresser. She turned around and took out a delicate small box and opened it in front of me. Only then did I find that it was all her jewelry. I was shocked to see this. I have never seen so many cosmetics and jewelry before. This was all Pearl's! Pearl smiled and said to me, "Why are you so surprised? You are so pretty. A little dressing up

Forceful Marriage: Young Master's Mute Wife

Forceful Marriage: Young Master's Mute Wife

After she finished eating the bowl of porridge, she did not taste anything sweet. She put down the spoon and said, "Ah, I'm full." Thomas said, "Go to the old mansion later and change her new clothes. The old man's heart will ache when he sees it." Jessica glanced at the clothes Pearl was wearing. She was wearing a purple skirt with a layer of fluff on the side. It was the new dress that she had just bought last month, and she had only worn it twice. However, it was better to dress her up more when she returned to the Sus to eat with the Old Master.

none of the books I'm reading are updating...(3) and will be reluctant to start another,, and 2 that do usually update of the 3 more frequent as the one which is not at all, only allows minimal time to read..less than an actual chapter, they act like its a few when still on same scenario and events.

The Kidnapped Bride

“Look, you are too smart. I could not just do something that… you would expect. You didn’t know about the purple pearls. You did not look for them before Rezef could since you had no idea they existed. There is no reason for you to find some purple pearls and think that they belong to me and Rezef would recognize them.” “How were you so sure that Rezef would use that path?” he asked. “Rezef is not dumb. He would know immediately that I was not in the estate of House Silverclaw. That’s why he would look elsewhere. I started dropping the pearls since the beginning of our journey. Purple pearls are rare in this kingdom. Not just anyone can have them. I knew that Rezef would find the first pearl

Pearls of love

Pearls of love

He felt he should get to know her. "Simon I can't believe that you both got conned," Simone said, sipping on the glass of water she had poured for herself moments ago. "There's no way those pearls can really tell a reincarnation." Simon didn't feel too sure what to believe. He knew that he was reincarnated quite alright. However, the demonstration could've been true that the whole thing was just the works of professional con artists. There was a con movie he once saw and those involved with the gangs could pull off any number of things just to get you to lose your precious money.

Painted Pearls

Painted Pearls

But they stopped first amid the stalls where the vendors watched with hawk eyes, as sniggering folk wandered through large sacks and basins brimming with every sort of grain and dried pea that a mind could conjure. Liziwe waited as Susan made her bargains with the merchant, slipping her hand into the sack of split peas. The feel of it was some strange comfort; some new texture that massaged her bony fingers and made them conscious. She closed her eyes, and smiled. "Mistress, I've finished- let's continue?" Susan's bright voice interrupted her musings. "Yes," she replied, and they walked on. Deliberately, she slid her gloved hands into her pockets, the corners of her lips lifted upwards as sh

Guns and Pearls

“I should be the one worried. I don’t even want to ask how much your dress costs.” “Says the one wearing obvious designers.” I rolled my eyes as we entered the car. “Courtesy of Lara, the only woman to love me for my gold digging ways.” He gave a fake bow before starting the car. **** “Oh shit.” Vincent gasped. He was not exaggerating his reaction. As we slowly approached the huge ballroom, I began to feel out of place. Vincent stopped the car for the valet to park. We both alighted the car. Vincent took my hand and wrapped it around his and we both made our way to the entrance.

THE WIFE YOU LEFT

THE WIFE YOU LEFT

More than a woman discarded, disgraced. And then—something changed. One of my tears, sliding down my cheek, suddenly shimmered. A faint glow—cerulean blue—and then it hardened the instant it hit my chin. My breath caught. It dropped into my hand. A pearl. A real, glowing, otherworldly pearl. I gasped, staring at it like it might vanish. But it didn’t. It pulsed softly in my palm, warm and alive. "It’s working." My heart leapt. Finally—finally, something was happening. A sign. A miracle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Okay, diving into the ending of 'Pearls'. It's definitely one of those conclusions that sits with you for days. Without giving away every single detail, the final chapters see the protagonist, who spent her whole life collecting these metaphorical pearls of experience and trauma from her family, finally deciding to string them together herself rather than letting others define their value. There's a powerful scene where she scatters some actual pearls into the sea, a gesture that felt both wasteful and incredibly freeing. The last line is something quiet, about the weight of empty shells in her pocket. It doesn't tie everything up with a neat bow—some estranged relationships remain broken—but there's a strong sense of self-possession that wasn't there at the start.

Honestly, I've seen some readers call it anticlimactic because there's no big confrontation or dramatic revelation. For me, that was the point. The quiet acceptance and the deliberate choice to walk away from the cycle of hurt felt more realistic and, in a way, more courageous than any fiery speech could have been. It ends on a note of subdued hope, which fits the novel's overall tone perfectly.
