The brown long table in front of the librarian’s cubicle was empty, compared to the back tables behind the tall bookshelves that were so full. I hurriedly placed my things there and went to fetch some reference books I could use for my essay. I had to redo the part that was ripped, and it was hard to distinguish which book was it that I used earlier. Not only that, but I had to read every single page of what I had done to connect the words and ideas exactly as they were. I could hear the hushed conversations of the students, the turning sound of the ceiling fan from above me, and books being flipped. Feeling uncomfortable, I took my earphones out and shoved them in my ear to focus.

His lips came on the crown of my hair and my insides were twisting into knots because it was just so sensational for me, I thought I would burst. The sound of his heart just drove me crazy right there and then, it leaping in his chest and I could not resist but untangle my hands and quickly rush to place them over his chest. It drummed so hard I thought it would jump out, my hand shaking from its force. It was so exciting, my head tipping up as I stared at his inflamed face. It was amazing how I could just read him like a book.

Even thought they’ve only shared a few kisses, it doesn’t seem to matter they’ve just met. Her heart is singing “Starving” while her head is singing “Trouble”. Does she listen to her heart that is saying to throw caution to the wind? Or should she listen to her brain that is telling her to run away as fast as she can. One thing is for sure, there’s a major war going on between her head and her heart. It’s pure torture and she’s not sure which is right.

I was too busy panicking about the kiss to feel anything. Ever since I kissed Byron, my heart had been sent into an overdrive. My body was filled with a wonderful lightness, and I felt like I could just float to the stars if I wanted. The box was filled with books, loads of books. And not just any ones— April Dove’s books. I picked up the one staring right at him. The already large grin on my face broadened as I stared at the pink, white, and red book cover and the name written in bold, sparkling pink font. ‘Our Hearts Are Always One, book two of the Pink Hearts and Sunshine series.’ The one I had asked Liam to give me. I picked up the book that was beside it, The Sunshine Is In Your Smile, the third book in the series.

My heart skipped a beat, my tears moist right then. I dropped to a crouch and held him, pressing my ear against his chest again. I could hear his heartbeat, thumping powerfully through his thin shirt. It was such a familiar sensation. It was Stan's heartbeat. As I closed my eyes, my tears flowed ever so quietly. We stayed like that for a while, and as I wiped my tears, I held Nathan firmly in my arms once more. "Please live a good life with Stan's heart." - Nathan walked with me to the gates of the orphanage, but I never once turned to look at him again.

He bent down and was about to help me. Suddenly, Alma screamed in panic. “Ahh! Help! “My wheelchair is acting up!” She yelled as her electric wheelchair suddenly surged backward. In a flash, the wheelchair rolled straight over BunBun, crushing him under its weight before hitting the wall and stopping. “Ouch! My leg! It hurts!” She could still scream in ‘pain’. Meanwhile, BunBun could not move at all. The full weight of the wheelchair combined with Alma had rolled over him, crushing him. He let out one last pitiful, piercing yelp before going completely still.
