The Holy Bible Reading Novels & Stories

“ A reading from a letter to the Hebrews”, the lector said as we moved to the pulpit, while I held a microphone to his mouth, absentmindedly watching him move his lips as he looked at the congregation and back to the lectionary, paying no attention to what he was saying. “ The word of the Lord”, he said in a final tone, signifying that he had finished his reading. “ Thanks be to God”, the congregation replied and my mouth was benevolent enough to also speak along with the congregation.

But before attending to the matters awaiting on the table, he went once more to his knees — this time upon the rug before the carved wooden stand that bore the sacred scrolls of the Scriptures. He opened them gently, reverently, and his hand lingered on the page before he began to read. And then he prayed — not briefly, not hastily, but deeply and wholly, as a man unburdening the weight of not just a kingdom, but his own bleeding heart. “Your Word is light to my path, O Lord, and a balm to my thoughts. Speak, and I shall listen. I am nothing but clay molded by Your hand—without Your Spirit, I am undone.”

he asked in a low voice. Only then did Kimberly realize she was holding a Latin version of the Bible. He had already taken the thick book from her without waiting for her to respond. He put the bothersome book aside. His cool voice became more profound, "In the Old Testament of the Bible, there is a poem that doesn't carry any religious colors. She moved ahead and sat on a couch placed by the sliding doors that led to the yard outside. She placed the Book on the chair, beside a flower pot. Her eyes, on their own, traced the shiny name branded on the dark cover. The Holy Bible, she read the words in her mind, smiling instantly. It's been days since she read the Book. The one who has the hunger for the Word of God can only understand how the spirit desires its food. It's true peace. Opening the Book, she began reading the Word. She didn't even realize when hours passed.

I replied receiving the Holy Bible from her, as her eyes kept diverting to my unshaven face. She walked away while my eyes remained on the Holy Bible she gave to me. Inside, my name was inscribed on the first page with gold print. I was still turning the pages while walking down the street, when I saw a small piece of paper in the middle of the Bible with the inscription: Please ensure this Holy Bible is given to my son, I want Jesus to help him get rid of that Ebie rubbish once and for all Immediately I read the note, I stopped at a roadside restaurant to scrutinize the entire Bible. After a few minutes, I soon discovered it was purchased in Israel, probably when the buyer went there on pil

Hinanap ko ang mata niya ngunit talagang pokus ang mga ito sa bagay na iyon. Ang bible na binabasa ko. “That’s hers.” Tiningnan ko din ang librong hawak-hawak ko. Hindi ito malalamang bible sa unang tingin dahil sa sobrang dami ng mga colored papers na nakadikit sa mga gilid ng pages.

Gospel acclamation. Finally, Henry returned to the center of the altar to read the Gospel. "A reading from the holy Gospel according to John..." "Glory to you, O Lord." Henry read the Gospel passage...something about bread of life, about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. The irony wasn't lost on Veronica, considering what was about to happen. When the Gospel ended, Henry said: "The Gospel of the Lord." "Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ." And then: "Please be seated for the homily."

Andrea suggests as she places her Bible on the stands and begins to read. "The Lord is my shepherd.
