The Host Novels & Stories

I can handle injured patients better than this elite social stuff. “Will you refresh my memory of who the host is tonight?” She tugs the handle of my wheelchair and turns me around. “Tonight’s host is the couple over there.” She points across the large room to an older pair in coordinated outfits. They confidently stand with their heads held high while holding a wine glass. An air of authority swirls around them, but they don’t appear to be cocky or snobby. I tilt my head. “Do they hold this event every year?”

I'm not bothered at all because I already expected this. The host looked at me with a surprised expression. He then glance at the crowd and back to me, not knowing what to do. He's from our pack. Of course he knows that the one he is selling is my mother. "Darlinh, please help!" My mother pleaded as I stopped right in front of them. "L-Luna, I did n-not know you w-were coming," the host said. "Why? Will something change if I won't attend this event?" I rhetorically asked.

another man stopped him. Sigh! I should get used to this after all my Mafia husband was a jealous type. His possessiveness was giving me butterflies. I just want this party to end soon so that I can ride him in the car's back. The host began with his lectures, they had little dance prepared. But was I paying attention to it? Not at all. I was busy imagining Caspar naked. "Now let's welcome our chief guest, Mr Caspar Mcadam."

This was outrageous! Scandalous! However, what stunned the guests was not this, but something this mysterious man had mentioned in his statement. He claimed that this was his territory, and that he was the host of the night's event! What had he meant by that? Kolten was the one who was hosting this dinner specifically for the Drunham City Connoisseurs, but clearly, this man was not Kolten, so what could he mean? Could he possibly be the owner of Misty Manor himself?

Tyler returned to the table where we were, bringing the orange juice I had ordered. "Not at all, and you?" "I'm happy to show off my girl and my future Olivia to everyone," he said, sealing our lips. My girl? Okay, this boy is bipolar. A man began to tap the fork on the glass, getting everyone's attention. "I'll ask for your attention for a minute to introduce this year's host, a promising young man, by the way. Please, ladies and gentlemen, welcome our new host, Luke Stones." It can't be. It was him.

I mean, I knew there was a possibility but still. "Good evening, esteemed ladies and gentlemen!" He smiled down at the crowd, speaking into a microphone. André just kept a glare fixed on him, obviously displeased by the turn out of events too. "I'll be your host for the evening."

My eyes widened instantly, "are you the host of the party?" "One of the hosts, so it will break my heart if you don't show up as my special guest," Rowland answered. "I will think about it then, see you later host" I said, tapping his shoulders as I took the next turn to the library hall.

But he wasn’t here. Yet. “Merry Christmas, ladies and gentlemen,” the host—a tall, elegant woman—announced. The room quieted instantly. “You all look ready to take on the world tonight!” Laughter and cheers erupted and I rolled my eyes. Most of them were just as Mr. O’Connell had said—old fools dressed in expensive cloth. The host continued, listing off billion-dollar projects that were supposedly going to revolutionize the world. None of it mattered to me because I was here for one reason, and one reason only.

Then when the clock hit 9’0clock, the host came forward and the dim light went to her, drawing attention of people to the podium. “Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it’s such an honor to have all of you attend this meeting this night. I can assure you that you will enjoy every bit of this night, I’m Cora Will, your host for tonight,” She announced then on the small program with her, she read out again.

Christopher said while looking at the camera. "Okay, viewers!!! We have all heard it. It's very obvious that we have lost one of our ideal men to another lady.!!" The host said and laughed. "So, we have come to the end of this show and before we go, I will give you a chance to look at that camera and say anything you want."
