CHAPTER 60: DAWN Peter and I danced and had fun. He got us some soft drinks and we enjoyed the event till day break. Sean smiled amiably, about to extend his hand when Darwin suddenly interjected, stepping forward and inviting Adrian to shake hands. "I'm sorry, you've got the wrong person, sir. If you're looking for Veronica's husband, that would be me," Darwin stated firmly while smiling. "I'm Darwin Walters. Veronica's husband and also Damian Ashborne's son-in-law." Adrian awkwardly nodded. Feeling a bit embarrassed but still accepting Darwin's extended hand, he then offered an apology. "Oh my, I apologize, Mr. Darwin. Nice to meet you. Hopefully, at another time, we can collaborate in business as well."

I scowled at her head, wishing I'd said more hurtful things. The car drove past our mansion but one window in particular caught my interest. The window that had caused everything! I asked and then held my breath as I waited anxiously for his response. Both of them looked at me, wide-eyed as though surprised. "How do you know?" With a furrowed brow, Dalton's mother questioned me. "Lucas had his doubts about it. He told me that he had two wolves within him that would fight for dominance over time but the other one is more powerful and harder to control than his inbred wolf." I told them. Dalton's father hummed in response. "Since he's a primordial, he'd have to make his wolves work together. It will be easier for him. And, I believe he'll be the strongest when he'd succeed in doing so."

Before his father could question the Head Consul Clare suddenly asked. "Here." Then the screen displayed several photographs. One was a picture of a pair of wings and a dungeon. The other one was two letters. An inverted B and W. Next to the two letters were D and C. The last one was a crumpled paper of the 4 C's. "I still didn't know what the photographs meant but one thing I noticed was the letters. The W.D.C." "Washington D.C." Jones immediately said as if he just solved the two photographs.

I couldn’t be any luckier, even if it’s just for now, I have him and he has me. “Let us proceed,” Sirena announces as Wyatt steps back, “I’m right here babe,” he says, smiling at me, feeling my nervousness through our mate bond. “I call upon the Moon Goddess, mother of all wolves, Goddess of the moon, we call upon you to bestow your blessed gift to your great-granddaughter Remi Esmersay Dawson,” Sirena yells out, to my surprise, there was an answer. Darwin asked as he held my arms gently and moved me back so he could look in my face. “Wallace is a fraud. He doesn’t have the elixir of life NO one does,” A funny look crossed Darwin’s face as he looked over his shoulder at Wallace and back to me. “I don’t understand. What do you mean? Wilson clearly told me that when your pack was attacked, the elixir was stolen by the Blood Moon pack. Right?” I blinked unsure just how much I wanted to tell him. I trusted Darwin but to reveal the secret Wilson and I have carried for years rubbed me the wrong way so I settled for a half-truth.

I am the wolf you saw in the woods. You are on my pack territory.” He leaned back in his seat and pressed his palms to his knees. He was nervous, I could feel it. He thought I was going to run away. I should be running away like my damn hair was on fire, but I couldn’t. I kept feeling myself being called to him.
