He Killed My Best Friend, So I Took His Everything

He Killed My Best Friend, So I Took His Everything

Five years ago, when my boyfriend's small company was on the brink of bankruptcy I stepped in to save him, quietly supporting him from the shadows. Without revealing my identity, I became the company’s largest shareholder. Five years later, the night before his company was set to go public, he held me in his arms and said, "Emma, after the company goes public tomorrow, don’t leave. I have a surprise for you." At that moment, I was swept away by the idea of his "surprise," my mind racing with the hopeful thought that he might propose. I didn’t notice the cold glint of malice lurking in his eyes. The next day, as his company went public, he slapped me across the face and sneered, "Do you even see what kind of person you are? Did you really think someone like you could marry me?" He grabbed me by the hair and dragged both me and my best friend in front of a crowd of thugs and beggars he’d gathered. “These worthless cast-offs aren’t good enough for me anymore. Consider them my gift to you. Do whatever you like with them!”

No one is perfect of course but why isn’t it the other way round?? From what I have read it looks like he repeated exactly what was done to his mother and he followed in his father’s footsteps so make me understand

If you’re looking for a second chance romance with good pace, then this book is for you.The problems doesn’t drag on at all and each scene drives the plot forward. I like how the writer doesn’t exploit drama from the characters…Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to more updates

The Girl He Shouldn't Desire: His Best Friend's Daughter

The Girl He Shouldn't Desire: His Best Friend's Daughter

His lashes fluttered and when his eyes met mine this time, the emotions they expressed before were extinct. “You’re my best friend’s daughter. You’re the girl I swore to protect and shield from those who would seek to harm or use you. I cannot do this now. Your father will not forgive me. I will not forgive myself.” “But you want me.” “What I want doesn’t fucking matter, Elle. I am not the type of man you should desire. I am bad and I’m only going to hurt you.” “Why don’t you let me make that decision myself?” “Because you’re too blinded by the silly feeling you have to see the truth. There can be nothing between us. Not now, not ever.” he said with the utmost certainty. . All Estelle Biggs ever wanted was Jace Henshaw II, and all he has ever wanted to do was protect her from everything that would harm her, including himself.

I called Zachary one final time. Yet, it was a woman who answered. "Margaret, right? Zachary's in the shower. Is there something you need?" I stared at my mother's smile on the gravestone, and an overwhelming emptiness spread through me. "It's nothing. Just wanted to talk about the divorce."

He Got What He Wanted... Then Went Mad

He Got What He Wanted... Then Went Mad

My husband—one of the top elites of Raventon Street, cold and ruthless to his core—keeps a stray orphan girl he rescued from the slums hidden in an apartment. Rowena Fletcher is clean and fragile, like a newborn creature untouched by the world. And somehow, that innocence softens something in Micah Benson—a man who's spent years clawing his way through the brutal wilderness of capital. He thinks this secret game of his goes unnoticed, but I find out anyway. At the Benson family's charity gala, I smash his favorite antique vase in front of everyone. He doesn't even flinch as he simply signals the bodyguards to clean up the mess and then hands me a divorce agreement. "Sign it, Sabrina. The penthouse in Ashbourne City is yours." I burn the divorce agreement—and that's when he finally shows his true colors. He freezes all my accounts and launches a hostile takeover of my gallery. On the night the storm hits, I get a call from the hospital. My sister, Roberta Slater, has been in a car crash—she needs emergency surgery. In the security footage, he stood there, watching coldly. "Sign the papers, or start planning a funeral." I dropped to my knees and slammed my forehead against the floor, blood trailing down my face as I begged, "Micah, please… don't…" A long, flat beep echoed from the other end of the line, slicing through the sound of rain. Then a voice on the line says, "We did everything we could." However, I have gone back in time—to the day I first found out about Rowena. This time, I no longer cry. Instead, I plan my divorce on my own terms. I call Valebrook Bank that same night and begin preparing for a quiet disappearance. But the moment I truly vanish from his world, Micah loses his mind.

He Chose Wrong, and Now He Knows It

It occurs to Colton Drake that the last five years of his life have been nothing but a joke. His wife, Bianca Harper, is in love with another man. Out of nowhere, Douglas Cross, the head of the Cross family and one of the most prominent figures in Granfield, calls him up and begs to become his most devoted subordinate. Alarmed, he figures Douglas must've called the wrong number. Things get even more incredulous when Bianca passes by and witnesses this scene. The look on her face makes it seem as though her entire world has just been turned upside down. Colton sighs. "I said long ago that I'm no ordinary man, but you guys refused to believe me. What now? Are you changing your mind after we've already gotten a divorce? It's too late for that."
