The team huddled closer, their fear palpable, but I couldn’t let them scatter. “Hold your ground. Watch the shadows.” A blur erupted from the darkness, a male vampire with crimson eyes charging straight for Hansel. My instincts kicked in. I lunged, tackling the vampire mid-stride, my shoulder screaming as we hit the ground. His claws raked my arm, drawing blood, but I pinned him down, my weight crushing his chest. He snarled, fangs gleaming, his strength unnatural as he thrashed beneath me.

Cameron grinned holding out his offerings. “You eat it. You need the sugar. What was that about?” Rhett asked. “I don’t know,” Jules shook his head slowly. “But that Van Helsing isn’t human. Have you ever heard of a non-human Van Helsing before? It seems… wrong. A bit f-ked up. A supernatural working with humans determined to end supernaturals.” “Really f-ked up,” Casey corrected. “How’d you know?” Rhett leaned against Cameron’s side, seeking the comfort of contact with his mate.
