The King: Eternal Monarch Ending Novels & Stories

“You’ve caused enough destruction with your existence. My son’s defiance. The unrest among the packs. The prophecy reawakening after centuries of peace.” He steps down one stair. His boots strike the stone, deliberate and final. “It ends tonight,” he says coldly. “You will finally leave this world, and balance will be restored.” I freeze. My heart thrashes against my ribs, wild and desperate. He’s serious. There’s no hesitation, no mercy in his eyes. The realization hits like ice water. This is real. I’m going to die. “Your Majesty—” A voice tries to speak up somewhere in the crowd, but the King lifts a hand, and silence falls again.

Certain. This might be the craziest decision I've ever made. But it feels right. The King dies at dawn. We're all there. Watching as he takes his last breath. "I'm sorry," he says to me at the end. "For your pack. For everything." Then he's gone. The guards look at me. Waiting. "I choose Caius Thorne as King," I say clearly. "And I claim Damon and Kieran as my bonded princes. All three stay. All three rule."

I sigh, getting tired of confirming it. Luca chuckles nervously. “Let me explain something to you, and then I'll ask again, because it seems you haven't fully understood the question yet.” He puts his palms together, biting down on his lips. “Whomever you choose, you will spend an eternity with. You don’t get to choose again. If you choose between the Kings, you are bound to that King forever. You will be his Queen, and his Queen alone.” He pauses, widening his eyes. “For eternity, Nobi.”

Then the King's body shattered. Thousands of blue fragments rose into the air. Like stars. Like fireflies. Like souls finally freed. Then his final words echoed across the kingdom. "Trust the light within you." The fragments drifted into the sky. And vanished. The Last King was gone. Forever. Then something fell from where he had stood. A small crystal object. Ancient. Beautiful. A key. And engraved upon it were three words: FOR THE HEIR ONLY. To Be Continued...

"Shiv'ra will do penance for their role in this unrest but as their new king has given us free reign to punish the offenders, their sanction shall only be for a year." Murmurs of assent rang out from the crowd. "Hear the words of the king!" The herald announced. "All hail king Nicolas! All hail king Nicolas!" His people's cheers followed him out of the courtyard and into the castle. The doors shut behind him giving him much needed time to breathe. "Ruling becomes you, my King." Odeya's husky voice came from behind him before warm hands landed on his shoulder easing him into the chair. "How are your legs?"

"Thank you, Your Majesty." The King took her hand in his, pressing a kiss to the back of her hair. "There's no need for all of these formalities, Kendra. My name is Kenzo, and soon you'll be officially recongized as my mate, so that is what you should call me."

Is the Alpha King a hybrid, too? The King opens his eyes, a small, weary smile on his lips. “I ensured that George’s soul will never find his way back to the earth,” he says quietly. “He’ll be trapped in the void for eternity, never to return. This is the power that only a King or Queen gets after their coronation ceremony.”

The real king is still untouched. We are watching. And we are patient. He stared at the message for a long time before replying. TO: UNKNOWN Kings fall too. He understood that their fates were intertwined, and the success of their kingdoms relied on the stability and strength of their alliance. With a curt nod, King Edward rose from his seat, signaling the end of their meeting. "I shall hold you to your words, King Maximilian. The future of our kingdoms and the happiness of our children are at stake. May this be the turning point that solidifies our alliance." King Maximilian stood, his voice filled with determination. "Rest assured, King Edward, I shall do everything in my power to ensure that our alliance remains unbreakable. Our children's happiness and the prosperity of our kingdoms are my highest priorities."
