Their Beautiful Madness

Their Beautiful Madness

DarkTwisted_Desiresmiserybittersweetnightmares
With one last glance at them, I turn toward the door, knowing they'd do anything to see me happy. I'm smiling the whole way to the lake house. It was originally going to be the home Atticus and I moved into to raise Xavier, a plan that changed along the way. Over the years, it became our escape, a place where we took trips with the kids, where laughter and chaos always seemed to echo off the walls. The house sits perched over the water, embraced by woods. It's secluded to the point it feels like it exists in its own world. No neighbors, no interruptions, just the soft lap of water against the rocks and the whisper of trees swaying in the breeze.

Bound by Sin: The Heir & His Stepmother

Bound by Sin: The Heir & His Stepmother

And now, I had him in the palm of my hand forever. He thinks he can fight, I thought as the car glided along the roads leading to the lake house. He thinks he can face me. But he doesn’t know that I have already won. That I always win. The journey was long but familiar. The lake house — the damned house that Anneliese had loved so much, that she had chosen over all the others — was the perfect hiding place for Aurora and August. Isolated. Discreet. Far from curious eyes and prying fingers.

THE PRICE OF THEIR NAME

THE PRICE OF THEIR NAME

"Choose the house, Leo. Pick the place where we’re going to grow old. Tell us where you want your studio. Tell us what color you want the bedroom. It’s your future. We’re just the ones making sure no one takes it away from you." I looked at the blueprints on the table. They looked like a map of my life—laid out, decided, and bought. I felt a surge of anger, then a wave of exhaustion, and finally, that familiar, creeping sense of relief. "The one with the lake," I said, my voice barely a whisper. "The light... it would be good for the oils." Ivan smiled, a genuine, bright expression that reached his eyes. "The lake house it is. I'll call the lawyers this aftern

Kissed My Ex's Brother

Kissed My Ex's Brother

“There’s a private lakeside property upstate. It’s not too far from the city — about two hours drive. The place is secluded, heavily secured, and only a few people know about it. We can take extra men, but keep the main house just for us.” Elena’s face lit up. “That sounds perfect.” Lila looked at Enzo with hopeful eyes. “Really? You’d be okay with that?” Enzo pulled her closer, tucking her against his side. “For you? Always.” The planning began right there. Adrian opened his laptop and pulled up the property details. The four of them gathered around the screen. The lakeside house was beautiful in a quiet way — wooden interiors, large glass windows overlooking the lake, a private dock, and s

A House of Lies

A House of Lies

Now I knew he'd been bleeding me dry for Riley Anderson, his childhood sweetheart. "I want to refinance the house, too," he added. I stopped what I was doing, my hands frozen in the sink, and turned to stare straight at him. "You really want your four three-year-old sons to end up homeless?" This house wasn't much, just a small three-bedroom, but it was ours—the one we'd fought for, saved for, and sacrificed for. The mortgage wasn't even close to being paid off. His name was on the deed because when we first bought it, I had been out of town on business. He'd told me it would be easier that way, with him making the payments.

The Housekeeper's Claim

The Housekeeper's Claim

"Mom, why are you still drinking red wine? If someone finds out, they'll start questioning the pregnancy." "What are you worried about? The child isn't going to be born anyway. Once the paternity test is done, the task is complete." As she spoke, she took another small sip of wine and casually poured a glass for Sophie. "Sophie, after today, it's all going to be brighter days ahead. This house will be ours sooner or later." Sophie glanced around the room. Greed flickered briefly in her eyes. "Hmph. After scheming for so long, this is the day we have been waiting for so long.

My Best Friend's Son

My Best Friend's Son

Tony informed me he wanted to make the plans for the weekend in order to make it worth my while and his as well. The drive was longer than I had planned, however by the time we arrived I was well rested and looking forward to spending quality time with him. The driver turned down a winding road about an hour and a half outside of Chicago, leading us through a forest full of mature trees and wildlife. It was so beautiful, the trees all lined up and perfectly growing on the property. “Where are we?” I looked out the window trying to figure out our destination. “Someplace special.” Tony answered as we pulled up in front of the most amazing lake house I had ever seen. The greenery was lush and t

SEVEN NIGHTS WITH MY STEPFATHER

SEVEN NIGHTS WITH MY STEPFATHER

I just drove, like if I slowed down the loan sharks would somehow catch up and drag me out of the car. At last the private road appeared, unmarked except for a single black mailbox with a silver V etched on the side. I turned in. The tires crunched over fresh powder, the pines closing in on both sides like silent guards. The lake house rose out of the darkness ahead of me, three stories of glass and timber glowing gold against the storm. It looked exactly the same and completely different, bigger, colder, lonelier.

Hi Billie i wanted 2ask something about your stories. When i see that someone has a few stories i always check how many are Ongoing. You have 6 stories but 5 are still Ongoing. From those 5 there are 4 stories under 10 chapters AND last updates 4-6 months ago. That's not really trustworthy right?

HIS FORBIDDEN SURROGATE BRIDE

HIS FORBIDDEN SURROGATE BRIDE

The warm afternoon air smelled like fresh pine trees, clean lake water, and crushed grass. The lake house was a large, modern building made of natural dark stone, light wood, and massive glass windows. It sat right on the edge of a deep, blue body of water surrounded by high green hills. The sun was sitting high in the sky, casting a bright golden light over the calm surface of the lake. I carried our two leather overnight bags up the wooden steps of the back deck. Anastasia walked beside me, taking off her sunglasses and letting the cool lake breeze blow her dark hair back from her shoulders.

Rest, Honey

Rest, Honey

The lake house welcomed its next set of owners with the same deceptive charm that had fooled so many before them. This time it was the Parkers, a couple in their late twenties with a toddler and big dreams of lake life. Jake worked remotely as a software engineer while his wife Rachel, a teacher, planned to turn the upstairs into a bright playroom. Their daughter Zoe, barely three, ran through the empty rooms with delight, her laughter echoing off the walls in a way that almost felt mocking to me.
